define 'normal'... guy in the video looks like he's putting up 1:34s.. i would say 24 is fast.. 30+ is OK.. 38 is 'normal'?

but it all depends on the car obviously..

thats why i ask because he wasnt really pushing it, but he was putting down laps in the low 1:30s. at least his last lap was around 1:32 or something. was just wondering how light he was taking it.

Yeah, Jack Olsen has several WSIR videos worth checking out. He runs a good line, although for the EVO it's better to hang out a little wider for the turn-in to turn 2. I miss that track. OTR has an event on Nov. 15th but I won't be able to make it. :(

Disclaimer: I am in no way a professional driver... I am not even an amatuer driver... I am just another person with 4 wheels that's trying to turn the cirlce thing in the car like the rest of the people out there having fun...

In no way, shape or form am I:
1. Demonstrating how to drive the track
2. Saying that i'm better than anyone
3. Talking crap on other drivers or videos posted here

I just wanted to post my video to show the latter side of it.
As always... constructive cricisim is always welcome... but if you're going to just sit here and talk crap.. DIAF and GTFO

Regards
Flip

See you all at the track!

eh... i wasn't that consistent either... what bugged me most was when he let me pass.. he was still WOT... once i was next to him... so I really didnt have room to slow down or change lines.. hence.. dirt

1. have fun
2. no evil death grip on the steering wheel... i have boney ass hands but if you look close enough... my hands were free on the steering wheel... sometimes lifting off of it for a brief moment.. (which is probably bad... but ya know...)..
3. have fun
4. grab an instructor if possible and have him sit in... or sit in with him... or better yet... both... i was blessed with the privlidge of having ride alongs w/ various instructors... some of which from this very evo forum and I must say... I've never learned so much so quickly in my life about car control... (Thank you GT40, Ricardon, MissEvo8, and Goku)

I liked his SOW lines. He was good at showing you needing to let the car run outside braking for T2.
The big track however, he had a few lines that were all jacked up. He mentioned "110mph" straight speeds, so to me that meant he was driving a low-hp, probably small(er) car. IMO he should of kept it inside through T2. I've driven a high power GT2 car through there, and even it liked it tight. People have different ways of going fast through there, and you can even double apex it if you want. He kept going outside through 8, but mentioned every lap that "You" should be more inside (all the way inside is more like it). I liked his line in T9, as he showed staying outside until the last second, and then bringing it in. This is good because it allows you to get on the gas a lot sooner, and lengthens the straight. The one area where he really screwed the pooch is the first of the double-apex going up the hill into T4. He did it every lap. You should draw a straight line from the apex of T3 to the first apex of T4 climbing up the hill. He repeatedly did the novice dumb-dumb maneuver, and went outside through there. He was either keeping the car inside for too long through 3, or apexing it too late, which would mean his entry speed was way to slow. Don't understand that one. You have the curbing to your right, and you should be up against it (you can get a track map and as I wrote literally draw a straight line from the apex of 3 to the first apex of 4), then let your vehicle run out a tad, and then finally bring it back in to the second apex. He mentioned these being "Student" lines (IIRC), but his line through there was the "Student who doesn't know where he's going" line.

Tho' if it's the bike I'm thinking of, they are awfully fun. Great find. ;)
