I had a mechanical problem that ended my day early at Buttonwillow, so it looks like I won't make it to Horse Thief Mile Sat. Car is back at RRE.

After 3 sessions running great and passing all the Ford GTs, Vipers, Cobras, GT-500s and assorted other muscle cars from a group called SVTOA (they all drive like old ladies on their way to church, except one Mustang that was fast), I suddenly had a misfiring/bacfiring problem. We tried to diagnose the problem at 7s Only but were unsuccessful. Compression is good in all cylinders, so it shouldn't be anything major. Something related to timing; maybe the crank sensor. I had to drive it back to RRE. Should find out next week. Hope to get running in time for Big Willow with OTR on Nov. 15.

Did you get a Check Engine Light? Did they check what it was? It could be the dreaded P0300, multiple misfire code.
