hi guys... today i finally get to do the write up on the installation for an ARC intake box... i did a search on it earlier this week to see if anyone had done it already and i didnt find anything so hopefully mine will be of help to someone... in all honesty it wasnt that hard but ill write the steps with pics anyways... ok here we lets get our hands dirty!!
http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albums/userpics/10991/_C251016.jpg
1. first step i took was lay out all the parts on the floor and look over the instruction manual...
http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albums/userpics/10991/_C251020.jpg
in the ARC kit u should have the intake itself with 4 equal length bolts, one shorter one, 1 tie strap and a small bracket
2. ok now under your hood your stock intake should look like this
http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albums/userpics/10991/_C251024.jpg
then proceed to removing the top panel, the air guide and the filter element...
http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albums/userpics/10991/_C251025.jpg
then take out your battery (this step is simply to help you get around the bolts easier)
http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albums/userpics/10991/_C251029.jpg
so now you should b left with this tray to hold the battery and the lower part of the stock intake box
http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albums/userpics/10991/_C251030.jpg
3. now to remove the lower part start by removing the 2 bolts on the front side and the driver side
http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albums/userpics/10991/_C251027.jpg
http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albums/userpics/10991/_C251026.jpg
now you should b able to move the lower part a bit more freely (pic taken from the back side of the box)
http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albums/userpics/10991/_C251031.jpg
4. your next goal is to remove the mass air flow sensor, so tilt the box backward a little and remove the harness and clip from the box
http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albums/userpics/10991/_C251032.jpg
http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albums/userpics/10991/_C251033.jpg
at this point you can either leave the mass air on the hose or you can choose to loose the clamp and releas it and take it out (i chose to take it out makeing it easier to wrk with)
5. ok now the only thing thats holding the sensor to the box are the 4 bolts in each courner go ahead and remove them using a 10mm socket or wrench (be carefull with them because the bolts are only held by plastic on the other side and its easy to strip the plastic making the bolt free spin)
http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albums/userpics/10991/_C251034.jpg
6. now remove the mass air sensor and using the 4 bolts provided by ARC rebolt it on your new air box
http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albums/userpics/10991/_C251035.jpg
7. now that you have the sensor atached to your new box remove the ruber gromets from the stock box and place them on the ARC box
http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albums/userpics/10991/_C251036.jpg
to remove them simply push out the metal cilinder from the inside and then pull the rubber gromet out

http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albums/userpics/10991/_C251039.jpg
the second gromet gose to the metal bracket that ARC provided for us
http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albums/userpics/10991/_C251038.jpg
reatach the harness to the sensor and tie the wire with the tie strap
http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albums/userpics/10991/_C251040.jpg
8. ok now your ready to reinsirt the box element back into the compartment... (go ahead and insert the senser back into the pipe if you had removed it but dont tighten it just yet)...
then start hand screwing the bolts that hold the box in place and bolt the bracket to the ARC box (always had tight loose enough to adjust it if necessary)

http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albums/userpics/10991/_C251042.jpg
once you see that everything fits fine go ahead and start tighting everything down (carefull not to over tighten)
9. reinsirt the battery and bolt it back in place
http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albums/userpics/10991/_C251044.jpg
10. then put the air channel back on to force the air over the new ARC Super Induction Box
http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albums/userpics/10991/_C251043.jpg
and your done... now go and enjoy the wonderfull feeling of having a new intake
