Going to try. Tranny will soon be finished and will then proceed to a rollbar or cage before I hit the track again. Don't laugh when you guys see me in a driving suit next event. I'm going all out with this safety shit. :-P

By the way, I have my HANS now. You guys don't have much longer if you are considering purchasing one for the 15% off.

I'll probably be going out there for Sunday only. I've open tracked before, but this'll be the first time in my Evo 9. Less than 5k miles right now!

I had 800 miles on mine when I did my first track day. 10k now.

Richard, what is the track charging for the open test & tune?

Oh, and how did the cage turn out?

The normal charge for test and tune at Buttonwillow (if you don't have a t&t permit) is $75 per car and $100 per driver for the full day.Â* If you buy the $75 per year permit, you get a $25 discount per driver for every event, so you would only buy the permit if you are going at least 4 times a year.

So bottom line is the usual price is $175 for the full day.Â* The Dec. 9 & 10 Test & Tune Festival is two days for the price of one.Â* They haven't decided configuration and direction yet, but they will call me when the do.

It's usually 2 run groups (open wheel and closed wheel) alternating 20 to 25 minute sessions, so you get like 10 sessions in a day.Â* There are no passing rules, other than be safe.Â* It is definitely not for n00bs.

I think the cage turned out very good. The only reason I haven't posted pics is that I lost my digital camera. I'll try to borrow one over the Thanksgiving holiday and take some pics of the cage to post here.

Great price. If you come out to Buttonwillow on Dec. 2 (Redline) or Dec. 9 & 10, you can see my 7s Only cage in person and talk to the people who built it.

I'll be there on Friday and Saturday.Â* I need a track fix.Â* I ran 11 track days between April and September...and then got buried at work.Â* Looking foward to more track time...and a CW transponder time, too.

Barfly

Won't be there. Mitsubishi is still waiting on my parts to come in, so my tranny isn't done (luckily they are covering the rental as well).

I'm probably not going to run again until I get more safety equipment in the car. Instead, I'm going karting that weekend.
