Eclipse CD2000. I just installed this one into my roommates Evo. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-qFKGpbHqGIK/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=300&I=099CD2000 . Its a step up from my Eclipse that I bought 2 years back and the only reason why I want a new one, is to get the ability to play DVD loaded MP3s, and have navigation.

I got a dinky sony headunit that plays mp3's I'm going to get rid of - your best bet is to do something like that and pick something up for cheap 9t9 ...

Pioneer DEP3800/4800/5800 are cheap and good head units.. You can get them at any electronics store from 125-175 bux and it takes 10 minutes to swap them out... too damn easy...

I have the JVC 3.5" screen DVD player. Looks great, plays even better. LOTS of features! Its a lil pricey, but worth it! Sound quality is superb!

well if you want a quick fix, you can go to any random electronics store with a car-audio department and buy the cheapest headunit that suits your needs. make sure you buy the install harness and the install is cake. takes about 10-20 mins.

if you want complete sound quality, you'll have to invest more in a good headunit, and a 4-channel amp to prepare for more aftermarket sound components: door speakers, tweeters, sub, etc. (in case you upgrade even more later) and then have a sound tech dial in all the settings on the headunit and the amp to coincide with everything else you have so that you will never hear static or little distortions in the music you listen to besides radio. the ssl system isnt all that bad but to a sound enthusiast, it's mediocre at best.

if you would like to discuss options you'd be interested in, feel free to pm me.
