Did a quick search but couldnt come up with anything. How much do you

pay for your car insurance??? I'm starting to shop cuz my policy is up in

July. Just wondering what everyone else is paying.

insurance depends on a lot of factors: age, years driving, tickets or no tickets, location where the car is, etc. some pay the same insurance as someone who has a kia would. some pay the same insurance as someone with a ferrari.

hawaiiboy
06-25-2005, 04:38 PM
i understand there are tons of factors. just trying to get a feel for what others are paying...

nurb2
06-25-2005, 04:39 PM
Damn near $200 per month ... 2 tickets. Rates are very dependent on Zip code too. Costa Mesa is nearly $400 per year cheaper than Tustin for example.

i understand there are tons of factors. just trying to get a feel for what others are paying...

why dont you tell us how old you are, where you live (zip code) how long you have been driving and if you have any tickets or infractions. then the same people who are in a similar category can tell you their payments.

other than that, asking for insurance rates among a large group of individuals is almost pointless.

hawaiiboy

good idea. i'm 25, live in Walnut(91789). Been in California for a month now. No tickets. Been driving since I was 16. Now post up your payments!

Are you under your parents name?

What is the cheapest, most reliable insurance you guys have?* I picked up an 06 Evo last night, and Progressive seems to be the cheapest out of 21st (current), Geico, and Progressive.* The quote from Progressive was $257.00/month = $1540.00/6-months for 50/100 + 500 deduct's.

I'm 22, live in Reseda, clean record, had a comprehensive claim a few months ago.*

Zero moving violations since 1998 (knocked on wood). No accidents, basically a clean record. Got a great full coverage deal with Wawanesa. They're based out of Canada, but they have offices out here in Southern California. Applied through the web and a got a smokin' rate in the mail. Brand new Evo covered for $1099/year. Being over the age of 25 helps too. Geez, am I that old already??? :-o

Hey there, first time poster short time reader (evom convert).* I had to jump in on this one since I am an insurance agent here San Diego.* I can tell you the loss rate in your zip code makes a huge difference if all other things are equal.* For example insurance rates are about 15% cheaper in Poway than they are in Escondido because Escondido has a lot more crime and such.

I do not own an evo yet (hoping to buy one after tax return this year) but I ran some numbers on myself and it was about $850 for a 6 month term, I am age 23 with a clean record.* This was with a $1000 deductible, which for me is perfect because I only plan on using the insurance for anything other than liability in the event of a big (or total) loss. IE theft, or totalled in an accident.

I work for farmers, and the way it works with us, if you have a clean record for the last 6 years you get a very sizeable discount.* Also we offer the highest home/auto/multi car discounts.* If I had all the discounts the $850 rate would have been more like ~$650.* I know one reason I'd go with Farmer's insurance is we offer customized parts coverage.* Anyway not trying to sell anyone insurance.

More than 1 ticket or accident can really hurt your rates, that is why I always recommend fighting tickets and driving safely!

Anyway if you want a quote or have questions feel free to email me, [email protected].

Wawanesa.... all the way. My old insurance AAA Auto insurance jack my price from 1600 to 2700 annually, when I got the Evo. So, I force myself to shop around for car insurance and my co-employee told me try Wawanesa. So, I apply via online and within three working days I recieve questionaire and the round down cost of my three cars. Now I;m paying $1825 annually for my three cars and very happy. :smitten:

you should always shop around when you get a hike. Its the best way to keep your rates low. Insurance companies always will give you a low rate to get. Then....just when you are getting comfortable with them....BOOM they jack the price

+1 Wawanesa gave me the lowest rates due to my clean driving record. I'm only paying an average of $92.75 per month for full coverage on the Evo. About insurance rates being jacked up higher? The rep told me that if they were to do that to me, EVERYONE under Wawanesa will have their rates jacked up too. In short, it will stay the same unless I request a different policy. Between the time I got the questionaire and the time I was insured was 7 days. Again, you must have a squeaky-clean driving record.

why are your detuctables so low? that makes no freaking sense you are just pissing awau money, raise the to a reasonable level and you should be a little above where I was on my WRX at $900 a year, for 12k miles at 24, living in a gehtto sf neighboorhood.

I was paying AllState $1600 per 6-month total for 4 cars: 03 and MR, my wife Inifiniti G20 and my mom 02 Accord. Just switched to Ameriprise (Costco) and saved ~$200 so $1400 now. I'm 35 with clean driving record (consider myself lucky since I do drive a little fast sometimes but very cautious).

My MR is quoted $390 and 03 is a little less. Of the four, the Honda Accord is most expensive for some reason.

are you F'ing serious??? IF your car is bought, why would you even risk having liability. obviously your driving record isnt good and being 16yo, having a evo and liability is like the worst case scenario i can think of. If you waited a few years then you probably could have bought a fully loaded m3 or something.

Did you buy the car yourself? or did you have a co-sign? Also, do you live in a nice neighborhood? That could be the reason for the 500 difference, since my friend who bought his g35 had a 500/year difference in his insurance from a co-sign vs. no co-sign. i have 300 deductibles also.
