just curious, cause I have one and I have never been caught for that in 3 years. ^-^

Some peeps used them but strictly for track use only (off road) in order not to Jeopardize obtaining a ticket!

Who believes in that superstitious jinx crap. Just be honest. Everyone that I know of has testpipe and has never gotten trouble in years.

And I bet you more than half of the owner who has car modified has testpipe in this forum.

When I had my Integra I had comptech exhaust with a test pipe, had it on there for about 1 year, didnt even get pulled over once with that on there. It was still pretty quit though since it was the comptech exhaust.

I had a 1980 Scirocco S that I ran a header, through a straight pipe to a small muffler with a dual exhaust tip. I had it for a long long time like that. Passed the regular smog with a bit of air/fuel tweaking. Unfortunately they decided regular smog wasnt enough. They wanted to give it to everyone shawshank redemption style with test only smog 2. My car then was pretty beat up, had been in an accident or 2 and even though I really wanted to fix it up for sentimental reasons, I just didnt have the cash to store it, fix it, figure out how to smog it, and so got rid of it.

So the point is, I ran the car for years like that, but at some point you will wind up with the test only smog and then unless you have a damned good connection, you will have to put it back to stock to smog.
