Klipsch but they're kinda pricey. I'm using Roland DM-2100 studio monitor since I do a lot of audio editing.

Logitech® Z-5500 Digital

I am running these and my computer is my entertainment center in my room. Sounds damn good and it is plenty loud. It can be hooked up to 3 sources as well, so you can bring in 2 different digital connections and use the analog connections for your computer

I got the Logitech Z-5300, same as the Z-5500 but no digital processor because I have a Soundblaster.

I had an audigy 2 and upgraded to the new xi-fi. It actually does sound better than the audigy2. I also had the Z5300, but the z5500 also have a much better sub, and the sattelite speakers have a better range as well. I sold my z5300 to my roommate so you can always do a sound test between the 2. Z5300 sound good, but are weak compared to the z5500.

Ahh, didn't notice that when I was comparing them since they look alike haha. But I'm happy with them since it's only computer speakers.

A few years back I had the FP2000s from Creative labs. They were a 4.1 that sounded really good and got LOUD. I was very bummed out when I blew the amp on it.... Some of creative labs speakers are good as well.

You need to define a budget and identify what you really want. If you are gaming, get some really good headphones. I have a set that I use while I play and they are better for 3D sound.

I have the older Logitech z680, they are 500watts RMS with an audigy II. For the price, I think the logitechs are a great value that sound great especially with a high end sound card.
