Hey guys I want to make 300 whp. My current mods are Espelir JGT 500 exhaust, highflow-cat, and a greddy rs bov. The bov is for noise :2funny: I'm gonna get a Espelir downpipe and a K&N drop in filter but what after that? I don't want to go over the top. Don't have that kind of cash flow :'(

manual boost controller, fuel pump, injectors, safc and flash.

manual boost controller, fuel pump, injectors, safc and flash.

He doesn't even need bigger injectors.
a catback, downpipe, test pipe or hi flow cat, boost controller and a tune will yield ove 300whp on a IX.

Cool I was wondering if manual is better than electronic boost controller?

Also wouldn't I need a boost gauge?

you don't need a safc either. I talked to Alfred from TT recently, he said that the afc would be redundant with the flash.

Do you know how much a flash cost?

i would just stick with a manual boost controller ... its far cheaper than an electronic one... get that and a boost gauge then get a flash... you'll be surprised with the outcome...

They are way cheaper then electronic but how do they work? Also anyone know what a flash would cost? :?

scott gray charged me $200 for street tuning. I dunno how much he charges for a 9.
i think TT charges 350 with dyno tuning.

do it.....

follow what WJ4 said: "catback, downpipe, test pipe or hi flow cat, boost controller and a tune"

the key part is not only the addition of all the bolt-ons.. but you will need a tune to fully get your money's worth... Â*and have an idea of where you want to stop... or you'll end up making your car slower if your not doing it right....

Hmmmm :? Who is better?

Hmmmm :? Who is better?

That's all preference..you do want a Dyno tune or street tune.
And yes you would need a boost gauge before the boost controller, unless you're feeling risky ;) jk
an EGT gauge is not needed but will be a plus.

That is a true. I want a good amount of power for now until I figure out how far I really want to go or until my my girl complains about how much I spend on my car instead of her :-\ Girls can be a hand fool :buck2:

What gauges do you recommend?

Damn, I had to admit that I had to think about it for a minute before I realized you meant handful.
And you're telling me when the girls you date are into rich taste and only wear high end brands.

And as far as gauges go, how deep is your pocket? If not, go with Prosport, they seem to be nice and cheap.

My personal preference is Defi BF, but they're not cheap...

i just bought a prosport boost gauge... lights up the same color as the cluster... its pretty nice for $40

Handful is what i meant. No my girl isn't into that but I think she wants more then Del Taco for a romantic dinner :D Well if I'm gonna buy a part might as well get the best.

Wj4's advice is a very good path most people are taking, but what you need to do is really research for yourself because everyone have different goals.

i dont even have the test pipe/hi-flow cat
but with the other basic bolt-ons and a whinebro
TT tuned my IX to 302whp/303tq on stock cats(91 octane)

1) get a boost gauge so you know what you're boostin' at
2) complete the turbo back exhaust - get a downpipe, usually 2.75'' downpipes will clear the ACD with less hassle - then get a test pipe or high flow cat depending on how risky u want to be - hfc will give you better low end throttle response, while test pipe better top end power
3) get a fuel pump to up the boost with a peace of mind - not really necessary but Alfred at Tuning Tech wont tune your car without one
forgot to say: 4) get a manual boost controller
5) get a Dyno tune with Alfred, or road tune with Scot Gray...this is a tough choice as i'm still deciding which way to go

enjoy the car :)

Turbo back
MBC (a gauge to monitor or borrow one from a friend, DSM style LOL )
Fuel pump
and tuning
323/323whp ... on a IX (91 pump @TT) :)

On the same note, for the IX get a flash over the SAFC, its nice to have your car tune and have control of Mivec (being able to tune it) along with other goodies like
fuel/boost cut, bump the rev limiter, control timing (direct) unlike the SAFC (via injectors)
hit up www.tuningtechnologies.com about it... talk to Alfred

The tune for a IX will cost you more than $350 at TT btw. Get a few people to go with you and it will be close, but still not $350. Worth every penny though!

Thanks for the help guys ;) I just ordered The Defi blue racer boost gauge and the espelir downpipe from 500whp and gonna order my boostcontroller and walbro 255lpf fuel pump from motiongarage later this week if I get paid. O0 After that I got to start saving for the tune. It's gonna take foreverbut well worth it in the end.
