Evo drivers?? Why?

So i have had my evo for about 5 months so far. I have yet to make a friend which owns an evo. Well i guess i have one. yet other than that none. Every evo owner i have met in the socal area has been cocky as ever almost too much of a jerk to talk to. Like they were better than I. I see other evo owners on the road and i get the wave yet in person its another story. :-\ Is this just my luck so far or is it another Evo thing? i came from the DSM comunity and never seen it like this. I see that STI owners are usually the cocky ones yet evo guys too?

yeh i been around sti meets and people always are sayin yeh nobody in sti ever waves to me etc and if you look at all the evo guys they all wave to each other etc, funny how we are known for being friendly, i havent had too many experiences with evo guys, the one i talked to was nice and gave me a few tips.

every EVO guy i kno is pretty cool.... in fact i used to go the honda-tech meets we set up in oxnard with my Ls/Vtec DC2, and now that i've moved back to the valley these guys here we're cool as shit.... usually it takes you a couple meets to bond. but i've only been to two and we talk cars thru AIM and call eachother up every now and then. instant click! i've never really encountered any dicks, unless it was for a domestic or kid.

+1 on Riverside and surrounding 909 area's everyone is really cool, in fact i was in the 626 and 818 a couple days ago and encountered a few on the 210 and they didn't wave or anything and took off, maybe it has to do with certain regions!

never said dick. just talked about your car alot. i love cars and all of them the same. so alot of what i take as being cocky is probly people being hyped. i was in jennas house while you were talking about your car one night. nothing against you just you happend to be one of the only evo guys ive seen. no hard feelings i hope.

id agree with you One Evo Pinay. i havent been to any evo meets, but have had alot of younger folks ( visually assuming younger than 20) rev at me, try to race me, and giving me thumbs down for not racing. im 22 but going to an s2 meet, the folks there are much older, and friendlier. i believe its due to the age. i still remember when i had my s2 n felt like iw as the youngest one there. i think the age range at the time was 30-50. this was a couple years back tho.

and I disagree about owning now sucks. Because a person couldn't afford the car when it had the dealer markup of almost $40k and now anyone that buys it is a dickhead is elitist bullshit. If you cant get past that clubs change, members change, and you have the opportunity to make new friends, you arent going to get too far in life. The Motorcycle clubs I am in have all gone the same changes in the last 3-4 years as well. Thats just life. Get over it, or go join another group that you feel is "your people" cause its only gonna get worse for you.

by no means, am i taking it to the heart. i love my hobby and will continue to do whatever it takes. as for the type of people, ive been to so many different types. i live way up north and to be honest have been from santa clarita all the way down to sd.

Yeah serious. I'm 23, and I used to go to RSX meets back then, and going from RSX to Evo meets, boy is there a big difference.

had NOTHING to do with alky. i canyon run my car everyday and rev to 8k on stock valve train. im pretty sure that was the reason. or i floated a valve because of no back pressure. the alky had absolutely nothing to do with it. if u blow ur motor with alky then YOU did something wrong or ur system is not good.

I am also from Ventura (although I have been in SLO for the past few years finishing my degree)...I have a silver VIII (looks stock from the outside except for the AMS exhaust...I have yet to meet or see a single evo owner in Ventura...maybe passing through on the 101 but that is about it. So if anyone else is in the area it would be cool to meet up or whatever...not all of us are jerks...just apperantly some of us...

I got my Evo for about three weeks only. During my 2nd day driving it, I saw 2 Evo guys around south coast plaza. They waved at me, I waved back. I didn't know it is the culture here, besides I'm from New York. Those people in New York don't know the words "nice person". They only know to use their middle finger. Well, I am definitely not the cocky one because I think I got the slowest Evo of all. I will keep it stock mainly for reliability and resale value.

This is very true, Evo drivers I think are so into enjoying these frickin cars that they don't care about anything else. Who knows, but all I know is that Evo owners suck unless you go to a meet. Then they are cool, but still think they are bad ass. I don't know why they think this because we're all human.

I use to drive a WRX, and other WRX/STI owners were always cool.

Maybe they swallowed a Viagra and got it stuck in their throat, and they can't turn and say what's up!!!

It is my experience here in Texas, that most Lancer Evolution owners go about their own business. I do not see the point in flagging every Lancer Evolution that passes you by. As Ixse replied you just need to enjoy the Lancer Evolution for the magnificent engineering, even though comfort and luxury were left out of the equation.

I do not see Toyota Prius owners waving down other Toyota Prius owners.

i dont know but all the sti drivers i know r really cool. i remember i was driving and i saw a WW rs so i pulled up behind him at a stop light to try to say whats up. as soon as the light turned green he took off really fast. i think we just have sum ricer young guys giving evo drivers a bad name.
