Luckily I haven't bought a game since Banjo Kazooie for N64 back in the 6th grade. I stopped because I had a swollen thumb , haha. I think that saved tens of thousands :D

I feel really embarassed.. I spent countless amounts of money dumping it into the first PS2s.. not to mention a couple of PS1 games and such. Then xbox came out and a few more hundreds of dollars went to games. After that.. It just died down and I didnt care anymore. I'm selling all my crap soon.. to think.. all that money could have gone to modding

Wow, so many wasted lives... well, it explains a lot at least. buying a car from someone addicted to games targeted at 12 year olds is funny at least...

lol well i wasnt really counting every system ive had in the past otherwise i'd join everyone else.... cause ive pretty muched owned almost every system from the atari until now, ps3 and 360....at least in the earlier years alot of the systems and/or games were bought by my parents since i was a kid... but still, its a ton of money could have been used elsewhere..... o well, its entertainment though, gotta pay for that it aint free

I've owned Atari 2600 , Nintendo, Sega Genesis,Turbo Graphics 16, Sega dreamcast , Playstation 1 & 2 and soon to own xbo360 or Ps3. Crying shame I've probably spent more on games than on any of my cars or clothes.

Damn not to mention I've owned a gameboy & a PSP. I would buy games regularly for all my systems . Game count unknown?

seriously...

Rebuilding computers every couple months to keep up with games... Fkin 10's of thousands in $$$ over a 2 year span...

I never got that bad, but I have friends who have and still are doing this.

Terry S

edit: At my worst, I was spending ~$250 a month for several years for just a single online game game.

I don't know about that. I am a computer guy and a console guy-mostly console, but both my computers are good for me to run any game. Buy the good shat and you wouldn't but new things haha.

my console style coast more than my computer will ever be. here is a brake down.
console- All game consoles expect the Wii.
computer 1-$3400- comp2- $1500

You're a console guy then Joey haha. I have about 7k wrapped up in one rig alone and that's not counting games, or the money I'll spend in 6 months to upgrade the rig.

And take a better pic man, that one is too blurry. I want to make fun of you for a game you have on your shelf (everyone has at least one game they are ashamed of hahahaha), but I can't see most of the titles hehehehe.

I am a console guy. I have been collecting since I was a kid I have the following.
Atari, NES, SNES, N64, GC, Wii, Xbox180, Xbox360, Ps1, Ps2, Ps3, Psp, and a pop station if you know what that is ;) Tg16, Tg16cd, Sega master system, Genesis, Dreamcast, Ds, GBAx2. I have more games than I care to mention probably around 300. To be honest I am running out of room for this sh*t too. Yes i am a dork I admit it :buck2:

You are'nt a dork by any stretch of the imagination. You're scratching the surface of geek, but not a dork. I grew up with a video game coder for a father...what do you think is in my garage in boxes (well, besides the dismembered corpses of 27 little boys). Do you still own the TG16? Ever play it? That was the system right there...so bad ass. Too bad they made like 7 games for it lewl.

I was into the computer gaming briefly. I just decided to cut it real short as it seemed like I began to get viruses all over the place. I remeber Doom/Quake was like the ish back in the day.

Stop downloading pron! JK, yeah sometimes it's hard to avoid viruses, especially if you visit a lot of forums.

I still have my Tg-16, I would love to have a copy of Dracula X. I need to open my Tg16 cd system though it does not work when docked to the Tg. I bought the weird screwdriver so I can open it I just have not gotten around to it. Aside from my video game collection I did not mention my Guns, Guitars, Cars or Transformers.

Vices are fewer now! However they're becoming ever increasingly more expensive. It used to be comics, games, telescopes, transistor radios, car magazines, skateboards and gun magazines. Now it's Cars, Motorcycles, Arms and some games.

The topic of the thread is how much money have YOU spent on gaming Dustin. Not how much have your parents spent on your gaming. HAHAHA, come on man you know I had to do that. What kind of rig are you currently running?

I used to build all of my own systems.Â* Every one of them.Â* Always at the leading edge of technology and of course that means that they all had all kinds of bugs and compatibility issues.Â* Every one of them.Â* I got tired of spending so much time researching each component, then doing double research to make sure that everything would work together properly.Â* That and warranty issues when shit broke could be totally tiresome.Â* Funny though, the last sytem I built was a nightmare in the build process, but I had absolutely zero issues with it when I got it running.Â* Besides the typical maintenace of drivers and updates and such.Â* So 3 systems ago I decided to stop building them and take the cash hit on ordering.Â* I bought 2 alienware systems in a row, and I just ordered a new one.Â* Insanely expensive, but in my opinion, worth the money for me where I'm at in my life as far as just wanting to unwrap a box and start using the effing thing.Â* I personally have never been a huge AMD fan.Â* I used to enjoy watching them bounce back and forth for supremacy in the gaming world, but I've had less issues with Intel chipsets so I stick with them.Â* The current system I have on order:

Intel core 2 extreme 2.66ghz
yadda yadda yadda SLI mobo
2g ram
Nvidia 756mb 8800gtx
(insert random 16mb cache HD here)
blue ray dvd/rw + cd/rw
(insert bitchin sound card here)

I decided against a quad because they are pricey and I'm a bit sketchy with the "newness".Â* I also decided against a dual card setup because I don't want to run a 1000w p/s and have to worry about extra fans or liquid cooling etc...I think that system will work well enough.Â* I got a decent blue ray monitor to go along with the drive, and I'm totally crossing my fingers hoping that blue ray ends up the winner in the new platform war (go go go PS3 lol).Â* The system should last me a bit, because I'll have space to upgrade to more ram if I need it...I think the processor will be fine for quite awhile considering the games that I play the most.Â* I really just hate spending money on this shit, but because I'm hazed on building them I don't have the option to complain about it.

i am new to the whole building your own computers, but my dad has a computer technicion at his company and i become good friends with him so he advises me on what parts go with what other parts and walked me through how to build my first computer. so that where i started. i don't update my compter every other month but maybe in like a year or so to wait for all the new parts to come out. my 1st comp was intel/ nvida then my 2nd comp was amd/ati and had no problems with either so i have no one side just my main rig is amd and my friend recommends amd trust him since thats his job. i will probably have to add liquid cooling when upgrding my 2 rig to keep it cool.

is Intel core 2 extreme 2.66ghz worth the money?

coz my new rig is going to be core 2 duo E6600 instead.. since they can be overclocked easily
rest of the stuff im planning to get:
yadda yadda yadda SLI mobo
2g ram
Nvidia 8800gts

these 4 alone will cost almost $1500 now.. T_T
it better be worth it

Hmmm lets see

as of this year

PS3
system - $600 - gf bought it for me though
extra controller - $50
Need for Speed Carbon - $60
Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for the PS2 - $70 - found out from couple of EB games and Gamestop the game is rare and been discontinued due to issue between marvel and capcom. At the moment brand new the game is worth 70 and seems like its going up from there. Similar to the old Dragonball GT U.S. version for the PSX.

And for the pc game

WOW expansion - $50
Battlefield 2142 - $30
and soon Halo 2 for the pc $50
