2007 EVO NATIONALS IN LAS VEGAS

Hello everyone, I have been talking with Alfred and Jenn about getting a group together to make a strong TT appearance in Vegas. Â*There has been some interest expressed on the Vegas TT forum about SoCal Evos making a trip out to Vegas for a meet. Â*A trip during the 2007 Evo Nationals would be the perfect time for that. Â*It will be the weekend of September 22nd. Â*The details have not been completely worked out yet. Â*This means if you have any suggestions, feel free to chime in. Â*Once I get a rough estimate on people who want to attend and want to stay in the same hotel, I will begin making arrangements to book a block of rooms. Â*We plan to book rooms within the middle of the Vegas price range to accommodate everyone.Â*That does not mean if your price range allows you to stay in a suite at the Wynn, you're not welcome to attend. Â*You are more than welcome to stay where ever you would like. Â*We are looking at this as an opportunity for the TT comunity to become closer. Â*The exact location for the meet in Vegas will be known in the near future. Â*I will post those details as I get them. Â*The main reason we have started this thread so early is to allow ample time to mark your calenders. Â*Stay posted there will be more details to follow.

One great way to help represent TTech is to purchase one of the new Jackets they have designed! They are black with nice embroidery including your name, nickname, the year you started bringing your EVO to their shop and more. Talk to Jenn about your orders and pricing.

The drive out is tentatively scheduled for Friday, Sept. 21st. The earlier the better to beat the traffic, but please PM me to let me know if certain times are bad because of work, etc. so we can narrow down the meet time. Also, TT is most likely where we will meet, but any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.

If anyone is interested in doing a TTech evening ride while we are in LV, let me know. Perhaps across Hoover Dam to Lake Mead or to Sandy Valley? If anyone has been on a great ride out there, let me know where...the more "twisties" the better!

Currently EvolutionM is putting together a meet and event schedule. They are working to find a Casino to help them host all of their events and will also offer block room pricing. Here is the link so you can see what will be going on. Their schedule is not completely finalized, so check up on it every now and then to stay updated.

The very same weekend will also be the Third Annual 2007 Tuner Shootout held at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, just outside of Las Vegas. I just got back from Vegas a few days ago. We stayed at South Point which is south of the strip but the prices were awesome and the rooms were great! It's about 3-5 miles south of the main area on Las Vegas Blvd but well worth the location. Not too much traffic. Something to think about.

Just a quick update for everyone, the 2007 Evo Nationals is still actively being worked on. I know there has not been any news posted and some of you may me wondering why. It is difficult to find a host casino willing to host this event due to the large number expected to attend. I would like to know the host casino so that we can book a block of rooms in that casino or even one near by. My worry at this point is to book a block of rooms at the MGM for example just to find out the host casino is on Fremont Street. I know the clock is ticking but without a definite meet location, there is no reason to book rooms. I'll keep you posted.

Another update. We now have the Hotel/Casino and things are pretty much set. We are working out a few more details including the group rate to get it as good as possible for everyone. Looks like we will have the entire top floor of their parking facility rented out for our show and shine on saturday night which should be a blast. There will be a special site created by the hotel just for our attendies to register. The second we have this set, I will post. Can't post the name yet, but its a very well rated place just a block off the strip.

Due to a monster truck evetn being held at the LVMS drag strip that weekend, it will no be available for drag racing that friday night. We are trying to put in a replacement activity as we speak. The hotel is the Westin Casaurina Hotel and Casino Las Vegas. It is located 1 block from the strip and is a highly rated modern hotel/casino. We have reserved the top level (and maybe top to levels) of the parking facility for the saturday night car show again thanks to Perrin Performance. The car show will be free, but we will be asking entries to register early for an accurate car count for space. The only time I felt that the Marine Corps was what it was supposed to be (Honesty and self discipline) was when I was in Japan for a year, other than that, I was tired of taking care of dumb shits, and taking orders from dumber shits.


I honestly feel the same way, I just came back from there last september, I was there for 2 years and HATED it! Now that I'm back with Stateside units I hate the shit even more! People are dumber and like you said the people over me are even worse than the ones under me! But with $52k as a reup bonus...well, yeah, I'm pretty down for that, I can make the best of it. Please sign up for DE or competition very soon as if you wait last minute, there is a good chance it will all of a sudden sell out as track events often do. This is especially true for competition as there are not many spots (40), and we already have over 40 interested. The competition registration link has now been put straight on tunershootout.com. For those interested in competition, there is now up to $8400 in cash and prizes up for grabs with all the new contingency sponsors. The drag race is out and replaced with a dyno competition and poker. The drag strip was closed due to a monster truck event.

Dyno competition is only $28 to enter (25 for the dyno and 3 in fees/trophy costs).
