WHO Traded in the IX MR SE to Irvine Subaru!

I was their today gearing up for my purchase, psyching myself out and I saw on their lot a brand new IX MR SE in Black.....it had some kind of titanium tipped exhaust on it..i tried not to go near it to close, I didnt want it to make me strart swaying fom my decision to go STi... :D

Who here did that!!! And what did you get!

I can't knock any car. I like them both in differnt ways. I'm so nuts I already have had both!

I think it boils down to what I'm looking for in a car right now, at least the next 5 months..LOL.
I know hands down the EVO handles better and is quicker. I know that from owning one, and last night at the OC meet I got a ride in the IX. Â*

I'm not going to track the car so I dont need the better of the 2 track monsters.

I think the Suby overall is a better car. A better build and better quality in parts/materials. Subaru is expanding dealerships and size, while Mitsu is closing up dealerships. I do alot of driving and sitting in traffic and just wanted something that would offer me more creature comforts and such, and a more solid feel.

It is still a great platform to build on. I plan on concentrating on the suspension mostly(CUSCO of course), reworking the whole damn thing. The power is plenty for me, and with a few mods the 07 STi's are putting out some good numbers over the previous years thanks to a larger turbo, a reworked head and it has been regeared, kind of like the IX's over the VIII's....putting less mods on for more HP/TQ.

So besides the sloppy suspension I plan to redo/rework...when all is said and one I should have the best of both worlds for my needs.

Fair enough...i just, personally, couldnt own a car knowing that its direct competition was faster quicker...better for what it was built for. But thats just me....too each his own

i agree with what you said about the STi...i've driven my friend's 04 with bolt-on's a few times and test drove an 06 wrx 2 days ago....

the STi is easier to live with on a day to day basis imo, esp. in traffic like we got in socal. turbo lag is better, and the interior just feels more solid like you said.

but i also can't drive a car famous for its performance and knowing that its competitor is the better performer....STi is an awesome car though, more well-rounded at the expense of some performance imho.

oh and the Evo has much better seats...:D
