I wonder why they only cover anthropological sources and not the natural sources? Seems a bit shortsided...

Like the Sun and Volcano's?
... but all your sun articles say that global warming outpaces the sun's contributions.....

Looks like one of the scientists who was working on this report quit because he, "said the report is being motivated by 'preconceived agendas' and some of the conclusions are 'scientifically unsound.'"

The largest contributor to the increase of carbon dioxide has been the loss of the rain forests. It is a well known fact that most greens replace co2 with o2 (corn is one of the few greens that do the opposite). That being said, the SouthAmerican rain forests were the first to start the demise in the name of capitalism. For the few of us that were around when that started, we didn't know it would be such a big deal when we read about it. For those that weren't old enough....some dumb a$$ started the slash and burn for MickyD to have plenty of beef cattle grazing land.
There, I said it.

well the thing is what do you expect them to do? it's like africa... they have land... but what can they do wtih it?

the same goes for the south american countries. they have land but the difference is that if they slash and burn it they can actually use it for something.

i don't understand what you mean by corn is one of the few greens that does the opposite. green plants use photosynthesis to store energy. this converts co2 into o2

My brother-in-law grew corn (before he planted almond trees) for 22 years in the central valley. He told me that corn is one of the few plants that use oxygen to grow and produce co2 as a byproduct as humans do. I can only assume that he knows what he's talking about. I was kinda shocked when he told me too!
As far as the slash & burn, it just some information, not that anyone will change it.
Back when California first started with the EPA control, they mandated restrictions on business emitions that started making huge reductions in the LA smog problem. After much lobbying, the restrictions were reduced and they went after the autos much harder. There was a time that a 2-stroke bike would get a ticket for smog.

if its a plant... it uses co2 and makes o2. no plant does it the other way. this isnt bizarro world.

corn is a green plant and porduces oxygen. it might consume lots of resources that are created from burning fossil fuels.

fungus actually consumes oxygen and produces co2

OK, I did some searching and found that my brother-in-law was talking out his a$$. I should have known better with green plant and all...

http://www.ontariocorn.org/envt/envview.html

Here is an excerpt it you care...
An average hectare of corn produces enough oxygen per hectare per day in mid summer to meet the respiratory needs of about 325 people. The one million or so hectares of corn grown in Ontario produce enough oxygen for the annual respiratory needs of Ontario's 10 million residents in about 11 summer days.
