What cams do you guys offer?

HKS and GSC are the two Alfred uses most. 264/264 or 272/272. The 264's will give you more bottom end as the 272's pull more to redline. You need to actually call the shop for more info. Not always do they have time to reply to posts on here. 909-783-1200. Hope this helps.

ah, the eternal debate on which cams to get ... i believe TT can get just about any cam brand out there. Also you have to consider whether there for an VIII or a IX
If there for an VIII, these are some of the cams that TT has dealt with:
Jun
HKS , 264/264,272/272,280/280 (stagger set ups as well)
GSC
Piper cams (not very popular)
Cosworth
For the IX:
GSC, GSC S1
Cosworth
and tuning just the exhaust cam (like a 272 or a 280 HKS cam)
so it depends what your goal and how much you are willing to spend $$$$$$

I'm personally trying out the GSC 272 exhaust cam only - in my IX.. I've seen good results but not many people are picking up on the idea, though. We'll see how it goes :D

And at $200 shipped BRAND new from GSC.. why not?

Sup? Ran 12.1 w/1.69 60 foot.. My tune was hella rich/low timing but after I went and changed it I got no more runs.... (2 total!)

I'll be well within 11's next time out with the Cam and a few more goodies currently on their way/waiting to be installed :D

Who were you again ^_^?

I haven't saw real good track results with the S1s from GSC.. But I've saw multiple people pull 116-119 out of the GSC Exhaust Cam only. I want to see what I can do with it, and after some SOLID RESULTS being posted by S1's or S2's I'll go with one of them.

is the big difference just the intake cam, while they maintain the exhaust cam the same ????
i would of figure that they woulld of made the Mivec cams a bit different than what they offer on the VIII's...

Pump gas? Hell no, lol. Its not quite that quick on pump yet, it could be soon though.

Mods are simple:

Intake Filter
Downpipe
Test Pipe
Catback Exhaust
MBC @ 24~ lbs (I think, gauge is off, new one on the way.)
ACT 2900 HDSS Clutch
Tires are Falken Azenis RT615 in 245/45/17 (A little more diameter than stock)
My Personal Tune (in progress)

Gas was a a few gallons 91 plus a couple gallons 110 leaded.

AFR's were 11.2~ across board, which was changed but didn't get another run
Timing was able to be increased also

0 Knock.

I've got that 272 Camshaft on the way, upgraded O2 housing, and fuel pump to be installed this weekend.. it'll come alive after that both on pump and on race gas.

once he gives his trap speed it will be much easier to estimate the power output on dynojet or mustang/DD...

It was only 111. I short shifted two gears badly. On the first run traps were 113 (but lower timing) The 12.1 run should have had more topend to it but its all good. ;)

The S2 cam is 272 with more lift and you might need an updated valve train, not sure but i can check for you.

shame that TT doesnt post more results on some of there findings with cams (specially for the IX) or maybe not enough peeps with great results or decent results in order to determine whether cams at the moment are worth it or not

Alfred@TTech

Quite honestly Tomas, there just aren't many guys upgrading their camshafts on the IX. We report EVERY result we get and dont leave any out just because the results were less than stellar. We have always been very honest and forthright with our tuning results and information over the years. If anyone has any questions feel free to pm me.

reason why i mentioned that, there hasnt been any post besides 2 of them .. it just seem rare and odd that not many peeps (like you mentioned) have try out the cams.. i understand that you guys have a good demand for tuning and evo needs .... also hadnt seen you active on the boards for quite sometime.. so didnt know if you guys had results and just didnt have time to post them (regardless of the outcome )

I'll be posting how my track times improve end of this month @ Palmdale. I guess its a battle of the imports or something there.. Local track is closed for 8 weeks so why not travel for some fun :D.

Additional Mods after 12.1 @ 111 - GSC 272 Exhaust Camshaft, Rnr O2 Housing (Basically a Ebay) and will install a Walbro 255 thats sitting in my garage :D. Should be some good gains I think.

GokuSSJ4

keep in mind that Pamdale has a different altitude that affects ET's drastically.
From what they have posted on the site (awhile ago) from doing a Sea level track vs Pamdale the Et's are off by .4-.5 second difference.. so depending on which track you ran the 12.1 it wouldnt be a fair test. Also i notice on an add that they might be closing Pamdale... hopefully this isnt true but the track does need some work :buck2:

But so far the cam has the car feeling strong top-end.. and dataloglab's dynograph shows I lost very little low end til 4600~rpm, then gains all the way til redline ;). we'll see whats up i guess in 4 weeks @ famoso ;)

How much for the 272's / and install? I might add that to my list on top of TT Stg. 1 for my Evo IX (Stage 1 includes: Drop in filter, TBE, MBC, Fuel pump, and Tune)

Why is a fuel pump on the stg 1 for the IX's from TT??? I remember reading that the fuel pump on the IX's was more than adequate on the stock turbo, that it is barely outflowed by a walbro 255, whereas the VIII suffers from a pretty weak fuel pump and that's why upgrading it on the VIII is so imperative...
