View Full Version : 360 freezing?

ok... the last couple of days my 360 has been freezing in game. sometimes it occurs just after the load screen. other times i can get in and start doing something, then it freezes. plays movies just fine. my NFS games freeze up, but i havent tried any others yet.

thought they took care of this problem? (bought my system this fall...)

ehh mine freezes too but not lately
mayb its just getting a lil too hot
u should think about gettig a ic for it

just stopped playing movies...

now when you try to turn it on, doesnt really do anything and then it starts blinking red on the power button.

fkn microsoft.

unplug it and then like wait for a coupke minutes
then if that doesnt work then call Microsoft

if it's blinking red then it might be the "3 rings of death"... call 1-800-4-myxbox and Microsoft has extended their warranty from 90 days to a year now. so if you have to they'll fix it.

well... i pulled it out into the open and let it sit for a couple of min. made it through one episode of aqua teens and then it froze again.

well i unplugged the damn thing, let it sit for awhile... still freezes. fk it. out of the last 4 products featuring microsoft tech... only my original xbox worked worth a sht. and i bought it a little over 2years after the initial launch.

previous computer ...all sorts of problems with windows.
current computer ...more problems with windows.
360 ...fks up after a few months of use.

what a joke.

Its a known issue. They overheat. Thats why I am waiting for the 2nd gen 360. Known too many people that have that issue as well. Im reasonably sure you can do some modding to put some fans on it or something to get it to cool. Nice quality control though....

well i let the box sit all night, unplugged. and i went and got one of those 'intercoolers' today. fired up and stayed on this time. though i have decided to use it JUST for the games as opposed to watching movies with it too.

we'll see what happens...

heres the thing ...im nowhere near into gaming compared to what i used to be. so i cant justify spending 5-600 on JUST a console. no fkn way. the 360 was an impulse buy since i was getting a new hdtv ...i just figured what the hell.

Mine freezes everyonce in a while, but its only when I play NBA2k7. As for ps3 I wouldn't even think about buying one until gt5 comes out. All the games out for it right now are shitty, or are out on 360 already.

Mine went from freezing to getting the ring of death, "red lights flashing" I had to send it back to Microsoft for repairs, now it works fine.

Bro, do what I did sell it..mine froze all the time with IC pack..went through two 360's and same problem..finally sold it and bought PS3...O0

here i was sitting on the fence on which next-gen console to buy...looks like microsux just got axe from the list

im just flat out done with buying new video game consoles ...fk it. cancelled my xbox live, and was 'nice' about it. i literally almost walked the thing outside and threw it into a tree ...but my mom was over checking in on me and talked me out of doing that.

so it sits ...waiting to be fixed. or just left as a paperweight.

Not sure if some of you know this but if you get three rings, just reboot your console. It works for me ;)

bingo. i left it completely unplugged for a day and it wouldnt reboot. if you can do that, then thats prolly just a heat issue. but mines what they call an 'internal hardware failure.'
