Anyone have a fender roller, or know of a shop that is capable of doing this? I need to roll my rear fenders.Â* I can't stand the tire rub in the rear any longer.Â* Â*:tickedoff:

TIA

Yeah and Road Race rolls fenders.... If John does it he will roll or stretch depending on what you need....

I emailed him about setting up my focus hatchback, which is what I need to roll my fenders for. I'm not too sure if he'd work on that though. He did the evo about 5/6 months back and I was extremely impressed with him and his shop.

No, I dont have a fender roller. No, I dont have any experience using a fender roller. I am pretty sure Group 5 Motorsports does rolling here in San Diego.

you can always take a grinder and cut the inside of your fenders. its what i do. you should apply heat to your paint with a heat gun until its warm to the touch so the paint doesnt crack when you roll them.

Just a favor, can you actually do a write up and pics of it? :? it would really help morons like me. Worst case, we will learn from your mistake (I hope you don't make any) but just in case

heh, i already did it last night. I've never used one before and it was pretty self-explanatory on how to work the roller. I just applied heat from a heat gun on the lip of the fender before i started rolling. I got it pretty hot to the touch then rolled away. it was super easy. I've greatly reduced the rub, i'm experiencing zero rub from the left rear fender, but still a little from the right rear. I'm going to recheck and reroll if I can today.

can you still use the splash guard underneath the fenders? can you post the pic?

i cut my splash guard back a little from where the lip was getting rolled up. i did this for my focus hatchback, but i'm guessing they're the same thing for a focus or evo or whatever

rented it from a shop. i know them pretty well though, so I'm not sure if they'd just let just anyone borrow their tools

well i could post a pic of the fender roller and the work on the focus, since thats the car I needed to roll my fenders for. I don't have a problem with tire rub on the evo, i'm just running 245-40-17 on the enkeis on tanabe lowering springs. the focus has a 2.25" drop on 215-35-18 enkeis. I got tire rub in the rear partially because of the drop and rims, but also because it didn't come with a rear sway bar! :idiot2:

good ol baseball bat always work. if you are careful and know what you are doing, it will come out perfect. did one this past weekend. no rubs and no waves on fender.

baseball bat and a hair dryer works wonders. The real roller is like $500. I think Group5 charges $50 per wheel.

I called them, 85 per hr. I was asking if I can just rent to unit. they said no. Any other suggestions?
