The web site had been updated that the new version would be released today in the last few days but so far I haven't received the new version yet (I purchased one license of the previous version).

It's worth every penny. For $25 with the Tactrix cable (~$90), you can data logging the car and find many variables of the car, to me, it's worth it.

Yup. He supposedly sends out the update emails to the previous buyers via the same email address that was used to initially purchase evoscan.

Same here when I downloaded it, it was version .98, even though it said you were purchasing .97 on the sites front page. Not sure about the free updates for the rest of you since I bought it the day it was released. I hope you guys get your copy otherwise after the next update I'm screwed too.

My understanding from the developers thread on evom is that he doesn't quite have all the bugs wrung out
so the current 0.98 is a beta or something. Which would be what you were buying off the website.

People on evom have reported current 0.98 beta is buggy.

The 20th release date was his projected release date a while back and perhaps he hasn't updated his website yet.

I think he said that he'll be officially done with it when he sends out the update email. Which hes been good about in the past.

In any case I could be wrong but so far thats my best understanding is that even though you can get your hands on 0.98 beta he hasn't officially released it and the website info is old/un-updated.

There's a long thread on evom about this with the developer posting on it so if anyone wants to wade through the most recent pages this might be clarified. When I looked at the thread the above info is what I could make out.

Frankly I'm not sure what you're buying if you buy it now. The unstable 0.98? A mis-labeled 0.97? A 0.98 with only the stable features enabled?

I know for a fact that weeks ago people were buying 0.98 off the website and seeing bugs as reported by the developer. Not sure if anyting has changed since the 20th.

If you buy it now, your linked to the beta/unstable .98 version.

But you can change the link to 97 instead of 98 and download the old version.

0.98 has some bugs in the new functionality, so it isn't officially released yet. If you have 0.97 previously, you haven't received an update email yet because he doesn't want everyone to start complaining that the new 0.98 features don't work. He is working on an update to 0.98 and then when that is done in a few days, the update email will be sent out and the new version will be announced on the site more officially.

With that said, 0.98 still works great for logging, and all of the important stuff.

Yeah I am gonn log with it today... I did notice that when I loaded the premade gauges that some of them loaded the outline with no faces... Well Scot if I blow up my Engine will you fix it....lol

I just downloaded .99 using the link from my .97 email... Checked my spam folders for the email and not in there...

Has 2 byte logging Load/RPM/Airflow.

AND....even has power/torque logging!!

Note that its 0.99 not 0.98. OH yeah!

I looked around on that site yesterday but didn't see a thread or sticky that tells you how to use it. I then went to openecu.org and they don't seem to have anything either. Someone should post a how-to on this and we could sticky it.

i think someone did post some how-to instructions on this site for ecuflash. We probably need 2 categories for evoscan, one is a basic how-to setup, running it, config the wideband... the other is how to "read" and make sense out of the log.
