Well, just got done installing my meth kit @ tuning technologies. I must say they did a stand up job like always. I'll post the graph later since I just got home.

Mods:

AMS GT35RL Kit
AMS DP/TP
AMS FMIC
AMS FPR
AMS VSR Intake
AMS UICP/LICP
Precision 880cc Injectors
Snow Performance Kit - Stage 2 - 100% Meth
Cosworth Cams
ARP Head Studs
WOT 65mm TB
Forge RS BOV
HKS Carbon-Ti
Stock ECU

487 whp, 376 tq @ 27 Psi - 91 Octane
105 Degree Weather = FTL!!!!

We could have gone higher, but I feel that pushing past 500 whp on cr@p 91 is a hazard. Thanks for looking guys and feel free to comment. And again I will post up the graph later, but it's so damn hot, I need to just relax for awhile.

What numbers could I make with the stock turbo hyped up on Meth?Â* Â*............(lol)

Let me be more specific:

3" TBE, MBC, Intake, Fuel pump, cams, upper and lower ic pipes, injectors, studs.. and a meth kit...

1WkdEvo

I don't know many people that go with meth on a stockish setup like this. Might check evom to broaden the search, but keep in mind the results will likely be on 93 octane

vortech_g35
06-14-2007, 11:07 AM
I'm sorry if my skin is nice and needs perfect weather. I didn't ask to be perfect!!!

Liquid, you would probably get like 380-390whp @ 28 psi.

LiquidLife
06-14-2007, 11:09 AM
That's my goal then, meth kits don't cost that much right?

Just a little info, if some how the Meth doesn't inject or there a defect with the system. Say bye bye to the motor. But then again, I have never witness a defective meth system.

^Really? I always boost at 28 psi on 91 oct. without studs... my engine seems to knock sometime, but that's normal right?

1WkdEvo
06-14-2007, 11:12 AM
Are you seriuosly going to go with meth just because of the hp difference without doing adequate research to determine the possible down side??? Â*Andrew has a little more money to mess with his car (My guess only) and he can go stroker if he kills it. Â*Are you ready to do that without making sure it is the right thing for you???

vortech_g35
06-14-2007, 11:14 AM
Sean is right because Meth has a huge downside. I would recommend the failsafe they offer though which I ordered for my car. I have a low lvl indicator and pump light to make sure the pump is on, but what if the pump is working and nothing comes out. You have to be very careful. BTW you can't boost 28 psi on 91 without building your motor.

LiquidLife
06-14-2007, 11:16 AM
^Why, it's not normal for fire to come out of my heat expulsion vent? Â*I think it looks cool!

They put my car on the dyno, and after a run with the meth, my intake manifold and UICP were ice cold, lol.

vortech_g35

Literally it is impossible to run 28 psi on a stock motor. If you already have, WOW, I just don't know what to say. People run 91 + meth @ 28 psi on stock motor with stock turbo. I think the highest PSI with meth I've seen on a stock motor would be 30.

BTW does anyone have the forge RS bov....it sounds like two pitch forks hitting together

one reason i wont go this route.. if you plan to track the car, theres way too many variables that can go wrong.. not worth it IMO. i rather add a bit of 100 and have the car tune for a 91...
if you really need to run that much boost, why not just have 2 maps available.. 1 for 91 and the other for 100 invest on a tatrix cable and you should be good to go!

who doesn have a laptop and if that happens to be the case, you can always pick up a new one for cheap or ebay for cheaper.. it doesnt have to be anything fancy... we all dont need a laptop like Sean has... which happens to be bling bling and in the price range of a cossie head :D

1WkdEvo
06-14-2007, 01:12 PM

Full cossie crate/head/etc. 2.2L at 10,500 rpm. No more screwing around, it's go time! I am actually still working out pricing and some other details at this point so it may be a while longer. I miss driving my car, but I'm ready to go all the way at this point and stop screwing around with small upgrade here and there. I am also waiting on money from a business associate who is about a week past due. That is what's financing this round. While thats going, the tranny will go to Shep and I'll have to decide on some other driveline stuff. It really sucks having the car sit in the garage just looking pretty. I will be adding a cossie 2.2l next year, i have to save for it and damn thing is in the 6-7k figure (without labor) so we shall see..

E85 = win! I wish there were more local stations though =(. But Andrew is nice and he'll let me share his gas, right? :D

I don't know yet, just sitting in my garage waiting for RRE to look at it, but the plug tip on chamber 4 decided to disentigrate and take the gravity induced plunge downwards...not a good thing :(

Andrew! Why are there ants crawling into the intercooler you gave me?! Did you put sugar cubes in it or something? You bastard!

Hey G35, what else did u get from this site (http://www.snowperformance.net/products.php?p_cat=255) besides the Stage 2 Boost Cooler? Just curious cause I'm thinking about getting meth too (for now, while saving up for a BIGGER turbo for next year).

Get the extra big tank as well with extra wiring.

I have one concern with Meth as if you're taking a corner hard and on half tank of meth, the liquid would be pushed up to the side. And assuming the meth exits through the bottom of the tank, then there's going to be a slight duration where the lines would be empty, right?

vortech_g35
06-17-2007, 12:40 PM
I doubt it. There is meth in the line right? and really nobody rides on meth low. You usually fill it up before it gets half way, plus you have the low level light indicator.

I would get a tank like that, but I want it hidden, like in the windshield washer area.

TeKiZeRo
06-17-2007, 12:42 PM
There's still meth in the line, but there's going to still going to be a gap of emptiness from it if there's nothing being pumped in.

vortech_g35
06-17-2007, 12:51 PM
You should get the fail safe then, but the big tank holds 1-2 gallons. That is alot of meth buddy to use.

TeKiZeRo
06-17-2007, 12:54 PM
Nice. I've been contemplating meth for a really long time since it makes the engine run better. It would be so sick with E85...muahahahahahaha.

I've decided to do E85 + Meth in December as my tax return present :D.

If you are running E85, you should run it straight without Meth injection. E85's properties tend to make it work better straight than diluted. Keep in mind that Methanol is 99 octane and contains 40% less energy by volume than Ethanol.

http://www.leeric.lsu.edu/bgbb/7/ecep/auto/m/m.htm

E85 has an incredible tolerance for high boost by itself.

vortech_g35
06-18-2007, 09:22 AM
We've actually seen many cars run E85 + Meth/Water(505/50%) to achieve great results. You just need a good tuner, who will lean the crap out of the fuel to run the meth.

tabio42

I would think E85 + straight water would be better. E85 octane rating 100-105. Water = infinite octane :)
That way you can use the water to pull the excess heat out of the combustion chamber rather than dumping extra fuel. Plus the whole intake temp thing.

vortech_g35
06-18-2007, 09:31 AM
It's ok, I just was the bigger man and apologized. I'm not a E-thug, as I guess he can't take jokes.

tabio you are correct as 100% would be great, but you would not get HP, which is the whole goal of alky injection.

vortech_g35
06-18-2007, 09:33 AM
As actually my idle temp is 137 degrees and @ full boost i'm at 107 degrees. So meth actually does cool while giving HP.

IF anything, it would run better in SD because of the weather.

no doubt, usually people have to turn their boost down when going to low elevations like SD.
