just failed smog inspection

Hi guys, I moved from NY about 6 months ago and I finally got around to register my car and change my license to CA... well, not yet. I failed SMOG today. I currently have buschur hiflow+catback. buschur intake, injen intake pipes, cams, and flash tuned.

The car failed on the idle test but passed on everything else. The limit was 100 and my idle was at 221. Anyone know if there's anything I can do to pass this part of the test? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, I don't have any stock parts anymore =/. Is there any additives or tricks I can do to pass the idling part? I'm desperate to get my car registered in CA cause my registration in NY is expiring soon...

If you can get your hand on stright methanol; put about 3 ounces in a full tank of 91 octane and it should pass you. Methanol burns a lot cleaner. There is also stuff at the auto parts store that says it will guarnatee to make you pass smog. If you read the ingredients, its just methanol.

Put the stock cat on and retune the lower timing areas. Usually the hi emissions at idle are caused by advanced timing. I passed CA smog with the mods in my sig and I tuned it myself.

Or there are smog check places where you can slip the guy a dead president and he'll fake the test to pass your car. I'm just saying ;)

Add a bottle of rubbing alcohol to your tank, drive around to mix it.Â* Never had a car fail when I have used this.Â* This came from a guy that used to do smog tests FWIW.

Also ALWAYS have them do a pretest first that way if it's way out you don't get sited as a gross polluter not good!!!!
