where did you buy your evo? If from South Coast - they do free oil oil changes. Otherwise - I used to do them myself....

i do it myself, because i dont trust anybody else working on my car (generally speaking)

if u do it yourself u can drain out the old oil longer, since most places won't wait for the oil to be completely drained (no time, they want to service more customers, etc)

it takes an hour tops...just DIY :)

I bought mine from South Coast with free oil changes. They actually use the Mobil 1 synthetic oil right?

I bought mine from South Coast but I've always changed my own oil. It gives me a chance to go under the car and inspect everything every once in awhile plus it is a 30 min drive to the dealer plus the wait. I can change my oil in 15 mins if I really wanted to. I buy a crapload of oil filters and crushrings at the dealer when they go on sale and Royal Purple by the case. O0

If you do it once with someone who has changed oil on the own before, it helps a lot. I pretty much change every one of my car's oil and believe me, it's the same for every car. Once you figure out the most efficient way for yourself you can do it real fast. In my opinion, 45 minutes of my own time gives me a heck of a lot more peace then trusting it to someone I don't know to do it. Good luck! Like I said, find someone who has done it before and has the tools - that will help a lot.

Do it Yourself FTW!!

I went one time to the dealer to have the oil changed and fluids topped off....it took them 3 hours!!! :tickedoff: so i said never again and have been doing myself ever since.

besides, with the Evo you have easy access to the oil filter and wont run into problems of having oil squirt all over your hand. thats one thing i hated about my Honda, damn filter was right behind the block so it was almost impossible to take it off without spilling some oil :buck2:

You're right. It too hot. That's why the dude you watched sweat skipped changing your filter tightened your drain plug with an impact wrench.
