Looks like the CHP or whoever is incharge of Mullhuland drive is going to be out in force over the next week or so cracking down on the "unsafe driving" and "unsafe exhibitionism" that goes on there.

Looks like this would be a great time for you canyon runners to get some free camera time in so get up there and go for it! Maybe if your good enough, you'll make the news!

It was just on the channel 4 news in LA.. one second, let me find the link...

Hmm, cant seem to find a link. I watched the report though. Just a bit a go. Maybe it hasn't made it up to the website yet, but it looks like this is a yearly "operation" that the CHP does. I've found hits on the very same "operation" going back to 2002.

It's funny, I never see cops up there. I do frequently see cops speeding down PCH just after I leave certain canyon roads. Makes me wonder if someone is reporting me but the cops cannot get there fast enough :grin:

note: speeding != street racing

i have had many close encounters on mulholland. Â*crown vics just cant keep up with us threw there. Â*but i've seen them hiding inside turns toward the look out. Â*they are cracking down because of wannabe drifters crashing daily up there. Â*i see them because my friend lives in the canyon so we hear them crash and go help them out of their broken cars lol. Â*about 3 months ago my friend was chased by a undercover STI cop car. Â*has anyone else seen this. Â*i kno they have a STI drag car they run a fontana.

Yeah Mulholland between the Rock Store and Kanan, where the lookout is, gets heavy police traffic on the weekends. Stunt Rd from Mulholland Highway up to the lookout at Piuma is also heavily policed. Generally best to avoid both areas on weekends.

PCH is always crazy for speeding 24x7.

ya it was a cop it had lights and sirens blaring he has a G35 drift car so he was a match in the corners but the small straights the STI would gain on him so he ran a stop sign where mulholland meets kanan and connects to encinal/decker and the cop stopped and he got away.

scott how is potrero back where you live? i remember last year that was their favorite hang out are they still out there.

A buddy of mine got pulled over going to the Rock Store. The cop was chilling at the top of the hill waiting. Luckily he told the cop that the car was a company car being used for a magazine article and the cop gave him a warning.
