If you mange to spill some coolant in your engine bay how long would the smell linger? I just recently fixed a coolant leak (i hope) and i can still smell a faint burnt coolant smell. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Coolant doesn't evaporate as quickly as water so depending on how much spilled, where it spilled, how much driving you have done, it may last for a few days.Â* It also burns at a much higher temp so it may take a good drive (where you heat everything up) to burn off. To "clean" it up, you can always take a hose and wash the area where the leak was...this should dilute the coolant enough not to smell it.

if you dont mind the look of the burnt off coolant, leave it. otherwise wash it off and the water will dry in an hour or whatever water does.

coolant burning on the engine should smell bad for a day or so, maybe 50+/- miles of driving. yea, coolant burning smell is gay

that resevoir is ACD fluid and it runs to the transfer case. . .and takes special fluid only dont try and replace it with some autozone BS. . .trust me you dont want to mess the ACD system up. . .

When i change my Transfer case fluid, i wont have to worry about the ACD fluid in that resevoir right?

NO not at all they are two seperate things. . . the only time you would worrry about that is if you take out the transfer case
