As expected, this game kicks ass!! But even with my 8800 GTS 640mb and 4 gig ram on 6600 core 2 dual, I can only play this game at medium settings.

What gives....I thought my system is not that slow!! :tickedoff:

Please post your experience and your system specs

One great game !!! the story is good !!! and that bodysuit reminds me some Japanese Comic (forgot names).... But if you like fast pace FPS.... COD4 is so far the best Demo out there.

I have had no problems with my spec.

E6750
4 x 1gb DDR2 800mhz
320GB WD SATAII 3200AAKS
GIGABYTE G33 Mobo
EVGA 8800GTS 320mb.

Default setting on both graphic and sound at 1680 X 1050. No lag while playing.

make sure you dont have any other useless programs running at your back =P

BTW what Mobo you using?

I am using Gigabyte DS4.....When I select the Auto detect system, it recommends me to set everything on HIGH but it lags when I set all to that....Oh, another thing, I manually set the Antialiasing to very high....

What is COD4?

I don't know if you have played Farcry but that was an awesome game as well.Â* The only thing I felt was weird is that it is HARD to shoot at the enemies or is it cause their armor is so strong or their health bar is really high.....

I find using the tactical scope helps alot.

You do mean enemies are hard to kill in Crysis right? ...

tips: ever sneak up and shoot pistols in their head? normally 1 or 2 shots does the job good.
And after I figured that. I noticed Crysis is very realistic. Most of the enemies wearing body armor and when you shoot at them, they wont just stand there.. They will either find covers or duck down .. or move around.

You either shot them 8 to 12 rounds in the chest. or 1 to 2 rounds into the head.

But after couple try of the demo... I now like to use the anesthetize gun and punch them to death hahaahaha.

This Crysis is going to be fun!! so many different ways to kill your enemies and the story line looks good so far. And of coz, be ready to face some Gaint tough Monsters, and outer species....

BTW Dual Pistols are just gangsta !!! but damn primo !!

i wish i had a comp that could run it but ive been lazy to build a comp the last few years my amd64 3500 and 6800gt just wont cut it. Â*i might go with a core 2 6750 and sli 8800gts if i ever get around to it. Â*even then the dx10 version of this games stomps on everything out right now. Â*but it looks absolutely amazing. Â*it will be the game pushing limits of hardware for a while.

the naming of vid cards is so confusing nowadays...

I'm waiting for the nvidia 9800 to come out so that I can say i have the top of the line vid card (i have the OLLLD ati 9800 pro) hahaha

i'm not a big believer in SLI, I have a couple friends who went from a single 8800gtx to SLI and the difference is hardly noticeable even with the highest settings and res

I think of it more as a gimmick or for bragging rights

you wont notice it because most games dont fully utilize the 8800s. it doesnt double the processing power its like a 30-50% increase only. the difference between 100 and 150 frames isnt noticeable to most. but the difference between 50 and 100 is. but crysis will need all the processing gpu power it can get. especially since the dx10 version is slaughtering cards even on medium settings.

I heard DX10 is dying (http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,2209866,00.asp)
plus
Crysis DX10 Eye Candy is available under XP (http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,2209704,00.asp) O0

Seems like Vista is not what it's ought to be and/or no need to upgrade to Vista then when u can still run good under XP / Direct X9

Oh ya, Direct X9 >>> DirectX10 (http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,2174223,00.asp) (just like the Evo IX >>> Evo X?) :D

EVOL EDO

lol yeah i know and i was merely stating that the DX10 version is killing cards. The DX9 version people are still able to run decently on normal settings and still looks great. id prefer the DX9 version only because i think vista is a piece of crap. i wonder if they will fix the DX10 tweaks for release.

your 7900 needs to be replaced .

specially when you are running 1920 x 1200.. I dont even know if 8800gt can handle 1920 x 1200 crysis. But my 1680 x 1050 was alright.

just a note on how demanding this game is:

i played it on my friends comp: q6600, 8800gtx in SLI, 4 gigs ram, raptors in raid on a 27" widescreen, all oc'd on watercooling

it ran decent on very high, but it was more playable on high when using high res... still looked great though

Lain-Li is was the best. still is the best for quality.

But 3 major things.

Expensive... price/value seems a bit off.

Limited Wholesale Channel..... havent had any Lain-Li shipment for almost 1 year now.

Because its designed for quality.... Less stylish IMO.
