I'm thinking of getting the Pioneer Avic D3 but I'm worried about how long it will take to get the orbital double din kit as well as the relocating the ac controls. I wanted a double din unit because it looks really nice from pictures and do no want a motorized unit if I get a single din. If I do end up getting a single din, it will be the AVIC N4 but was wondering if anyone had bad experiences/comments on having a motorized display. If I get the N4, I wouldn't have to worry about relocation and the wait list for the orbital. What's everyone's thought on this?

As for the adapters, I have the SSL package and from reading the forum, I would need the MITAH and METRA adapters. Are these the only adapters that I can buy to make it work? Is there an all in one adapter? Thanks for all your help.

Im running a Avic-N3 in the bottom part. Works great. The N-4 is the shizzle.

For the most part, double dins do usually look a lot clearing than single dins. I used to have a single din in my truck, worked great but liked the double din look better. Do you plan on amplifying your speakers? If you do, I wouldn't recommend a Pioneer head unit. Pioneer/Pioneer Premier is notorious for having grounding issues when amplifying their speakers, I know that because I had that same problem. I have the Panasonic think it was the VQ-7003U or somethign single din in-dash, loved it a lot, great quality and one of the better brands of tv tuners. Quality was there, sound qual was there, it was all good. I am also not to much a fan of pioneer these days either as their quality kinda got eh and their price got fuck. there are many choices out there, make sure what you buy you definately are sold on.

^^^ I have an SSL aftermarket stereo wiring kit I'll sell if you are interested.Â* Yes, you need two harnesses.Â* There is one that wires to your stereo to give it power from the car and one that takes the RCA outs on the stereo and plugs them into the harness that goes to the infiniti amp and stuff.

Want pics of what I have?

I bought the wrong adapter for my car the first time around.. I wasnt paying attention and didn't read it close enough.

As promised. What do you think?

This harness just has to pull battery power, ignition power, power antenna and illumination.

This harness gives the signal to your amp.Â* The blue wire is the amp turn-on, just wire it in to the ignition power on the other harness.Â* The 4 rca's are for the two front channels and two rear channels, plug into the back of the new deck.Â* The circular plug goes into the car plug that goes back to the amp.

Mbrickner, thanks for posting the pics. Sorry though, I had my brother buy the harnesses for me because he works at best buy and got a deal on them. I'm thinking of getting an Pioneer Avic-n4. any thoughts? Where is the best/cheapest place to get it just in case my bro can't get it for me? Thanks again.

It's alright!

I would stay away from most online retailers. I would check out crutchfield (going to be full price) or watch craigslist and forums for deals you can do in person. Other than that.. I would try to get something with his employee discount because it's going to average around 35% off.
