just cause you (or whoever) is paying $X for insurance doesnt mean that anyone else will ever pay anywhere near $X for their own insurance, because there are 10+ different factors that go into rating someone's insurance...

car
driving record
driving experience
zipcode
claims
marital status
student
travel raduis
annual mileage
kids
multiple cars
multiple policies
...etc...

so you can see there is a sh-t ton of stuff that goes into your rate. so just cause you pay $210, doesnt mean that he will pay anywhere near that. My bet is he will pay 3-4times that amount with the same company, same car.

no wonder!! i didn't realize there were that many factors heh. i was paying an arm and a leg with Progressive (with them for 1 yr) and was shopping around and getting around the same quotes everywhere else. then i called Geico as my last company and wow, i got a good rate. it's because my parents and sister all have Geico heh.

I am with Wawanesa down in San Diego. Haven't had any problems with them besides the shit at the beginning but other than that everything has been great. WAWANESA $1180 a year with 2 cars. I'll add in my house insurance soon and it will be cheaper. But you have to have a good record, any bad accident with your fault then they don't accept you. Even after they accepted you and you involve in a big accident and it was your fault, they won't renew you after the insurance ends.

I had Esurance with my GTO (I had a speeding ticket on my record then) and it was the cheapest I could find. After getting the Evo (and having the speeding ticket drop off my record), I switched to Wawanesa.

For both companies, I haven't had to deal with their claims department, but getting ahold of someone in general was easy.

I got a DUI on Feb 1st, and when my policy is up in November with Wawanesa, they won't renew me. Any suggestions other than Esurance?

Esurance will kill you after a dui. My premium went up 1k! Try Mercury. I have a dui (blew 0.8, worst decision ever, dont drink and drive!!!) and several tickets on my record. I pay 247 a month for two cars with them. They are strict as hell though. You have to answer a lot of questions and they took pictures of my Evo for whatever reasons.

I love the Evo, but if my payment was over 100 a month I wouldn't drive shit. I would just drive my beater. The day I give up 350 for an Evo to insure it, I will shit on my hands and eat my own crap.

LOL Maybe I went over board, but yeah, 200+ to insure an evo is just stupid.
