NOT SURE IF THIS IS IN THE RIGHT SECTION, i have stock MR HIDs and i was wondering if i replace the HID bulb to a 8k bulb will something burn like my ballast or bulb?

No. There are serveral people that sell replacement HID bulbs. All you gotta do is get a new D2S bulb for it, whatever K you want, 8k I guess if that is what you want and replace it. I don't recommend 8K, to damn blue. I'd stay at about 6k.

thanks but i bought my bulbs so i guess i'll check it out to see if i like them. My buddy told me that the ballast was made only for the 4300k bulb so the 8k bulb will burn my ballast but i guess not

Nah, you can switch them out. There should be some writeups on it as I know "skiracer" changed his stock D2S bulbs from 4300K to 8000K

i have an 2006 evo IX, I need an HID kit correct? or what....thx for input

If you have just the basic evo IX, such as I do. You need a complete 9006 HID kit which would include a ballast and the bulbs. Many people sell them here on the forums.

changed mine to 6k Ultinon d2s bulbs. I have a nice pure white now, instead of the yellowish 4300ks. Dont go 8k. They are too blue and hinder visibility considerably... Unless thats the effect you're going after.

I bought the Xetronics HID kit . . .6000k . . . They are kinda blue-ish . .

i doubt anyone would want worse visibility but i do want them blue :D

That's true . . . the Higher the K . . . .the less visibility on the road . . .

12000k . . .you can't see shit! . . too purple
