evo totaled in canyons

so me and my buddy were going through live oak (or cooks corner whatever you want to call it) to go to holy jims to go offroading and while we were driving through live oak we were stopped due to a road block the cop said a car flew off the cliff and they were towing it out he said it would take 30 minutes so we decided to turn around and go the other way and on the way we saw a totaled evo on a tow truck and an sti following hahahahaha just wondering if anyone knows about this or if the guy in the sti knows if the driver from the evo is ok the car looked pretty bad so let me know, THANKS

that sucks...thats why i stopped going to the canyons, there are so many variables you have no control of...i.e other drivers, rocks, dirt...i say rocks because i got hit with one coming down the side of the canyon, busted my windshield...

im pretty sure what i said is what happened, bc when i saw the sti, it had no damage so im pretty sure thats what happened. hopefully it wasnt another car bc if it was thats horrible

well I apologize if that offended you its just hard to crash an evo on a winding road when going the speed limit and still manage to go off the edge, IF in fact there was a third party involved your right I shouldn't jump to conclusions but based on the information I was given it didn't seem that way.

My daily route to/from work is the 67 , canyon run. There is at least one fatality the a month. I love driving that canyon. But Im not that stupid to get in an accident. Been driving that route for more than 2 yrs now.

i was the driver that wednesday night who totaled their car :'(
i got off work early that night and decided to take the long way home so i went down el toro, and the down live oaks canyon (had too many things runnign through my head and decided to go for a drive)
i wasnt going excessively fast, but like half way in that canyon, theres a part where it isint really even a turn... i stepped on it before i got aroudn that curve (i guess you can call it) and my car skidded onto the other lane, and i guess i turned it to hard to get back into my lane and get control... but the car just kept doing it about 3 times, until the left sides tires went off the road a little bit... my car then spun out, but i was still going sideways until i went off the road down the 20ft ditch...

it started to flip in the air and i guess i took down a tree on the way down, and landed down the ditch upside down... dont know how i was completely fine, and got out of the car... i probably should have died, even the insurance called me the next day and told me it was a miracle how i did not even get injured..
pretty thankful to be able to walk away from that one, but pissed off my car is gone and im completely done with canyons....

its funny i would always say people with evos were idiots for crashing them at high speeds and having our insurance go up... but now i just added to that list... damn have i learned my lesson

Holy shit glad you didn't get hurt bro. From the pictures looks like a miracle. Same shit happened to me but I stomped on the throttle and the car pulled me out of it. Haven't driven that way since.

like you have said it, way too many variables... Reason why i have stopped going for quite sometime. That and the fact that cops are out there looking out for anyone that tries to have fun on some of the popular and non popular canyons.
The same problem happen near latigo, too much dirt, rocks, etc.. That have made the road unsafe to drive. A fun drive can become a tragic one.. Specially when the road doesnt allow for mistakes.
