It's kool, but battery, HDD, and memory are not removable. I don't know about that.

The SSD is like a 1200 option... 1799 for a regular HD, 3000 for SSD... wtf...

Apple has always been overpriced with their things not to mention their crappy support. But they sure do make some very sexy things.
I think form and function is something to think of with this one. at 3lbs and only .76" thick, its basically got everything you need for a nice transportable device if you travel alot. I bet this would be pretty handy for tuning...
I'm not getting one because I have a macbook pro (and dont really like it)... but I have to admit, when I saw this, it got me interested.

There's nothing really innovative with the Air other than the form factor. Other than the light weight and thin as a wafer size, the specs don't impress. Its got a slow and relatively small hard drive, only one USB port and no optical drive! I'd be afraid of breaking it.
It sure is nice though.

^^it has the touch trakcpad. meaning u can use the trackpad like u would an iphone
it would be great for pix, zooming in and rotating with your fingers.
just wait a few months, it'll drop in price

It's definitely a nice laptop...but that's about it, for me at least. I don't like the whole "no optical drive, 1 USB port and no ethernet and no user-replaceable battery" combo, it doesn't fit my needs so that's why it doesn't appeal to me, other people might think differently.

did you guys look at the prices for these things?.....
1,799.00 for the 13 inch 1.6 GHZ and 80GB PATA drive
3098.00 for the 13 inch 1.8 GHZ 64GB solid-state drive (SSD)
i don't know why they offered a $1,000 SSD drive when they could have provided a bigger PATA drive for less. Â*
They should have thought about the people who don't want SSD.

than again member those mini laptops (umpc i think they're called) like the sony that went for $2k????
lots of shit gets overpriced. especially cuz this is apple it will be overpriced too. and they will make millions off their loyal sheep
but i still think it looks nice :)
missing too much stuff i use on a daily basis, firewire 400/800..
plus i have a macbook pro already, i love it.
