Vandalism in Orange County

A few days ago at the South Coast car meet my car looked like this:

On February 11th, which was the very next day, I was hanging out at my girlfriend's house and parked in her seemingly safe neighborhood in Fountain Valley. At midnight I left her house and this is the horror I came out to.

As you can see the damage was "sf" tagged 4 times on the side of my car and a slashed tire. After calling the cops and giving a report, they gave a sympathetic goodbye knowing that they can't really do anything about my situation. As far as they can tell it just seems like a random gang act because I don't have any enemies who hate me enough to do something like this.

The amount of anger inside of me makes me wish I could get my hands on the lowlifes who did this so I could sledge hammer their legs into a fragmented mess. Since I know this will never happen, the best I can hope for is that they're in a gang and get shot so they can be cleared from the gene pool.Â* >:(

Most of you can probably relate to the fact that this car is my baby. Being a full time student and struggling financially, I had to try to take the spray paint into my own hands since I can't afford the $500 deductible. I googled that you can actually take off spray paint with Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Surprisingly, this worked quite well but there still seems to be some permanent smugdes that have been left behind.Â* :'( I'm going to try to wax it to see if these spots can be buffed out, but if anyone has any paint advice, I'm open to hear it.

Luckily my tire arrived today and after a long series of events to get it mounted and balanced, the Evo is finally back on the road.

I'm going to post pictures on the progress of the fixes when I get a chance, but if anyone has any comments, advice or recognizes these taggings, then I would greatly appreciate feedback.

Happend to me too back in 1991 when I first purchased my MR2 turbo. I was at that miniature golf place off peck road off the 60 frwy. Fukers spray painted red gang logos on my hood.

It took a lot of elbow grease to get it off. Luckily, I was able to get most of it out except for the cracks. It never happend again, but to prevent it I started using that liquid wax with teflon in it. It's called racer's edge. After waxing the car with it, when someone spray paints on the car it will come right off by applying more racer's edge wax on the paint and buffing it out.

You'll never be able to prevent it since there's too many jealous haters out there, but at least you'll be able to protect yourself if it happens again.

That sucks man, I can imagine how much rage you're feeling right now. Those guys will get theirs. I would recommend finding a professional detailer. They're not cheap, but worth every penny. Those guys can work magic with different compounds and waxes. If you try to do it yourself you can do more damage. Good luck.

The idiots that did this are lowlife dirtbags that have chosen to position themselves in a lifestyle that will never ever afford them any of the finer things in life (such as an Evo) and therefore feel that they must "prove" to themselves that they don't need or want such luxuries by acting out in such disrespectful, ignorant and childish ways. This is a fleeting and pointless argument in their own mind when they take an honest look at themselves because they really do have an empty void inside of them that no amount of vandalism or violence or acting badass will ever fill. They are nothing more than ignorant (in most cases, uneducated) and sad people. Nothing but a strain on our economy, our war on drugs and violence. Yeah I live in FV, most of it is actually quite nice. Even the part near Santa Ana isn't THAT bad, unless you're afraid of Mexicans lol. I park mine in the garage though, so I may be biased ;)

Actually, the plot thickens. After this incident my GF and I drove around the neighborhood looking for anything suspicious. As it turns out, down the road and around the corner another car had been hit. I just got these pictures back:

As you can see the owner of this van had it pretty bad. They bashed in the back window, tagged it twice total with "sf" again (as opposed to 4 taggings on my body) and slashed all 4 tires. Â*:-( I tried knocking on the door of the owners, but there was no answer.

Bottom line is that in my mind this eliminates the idea of a targeted act upon me for "talking shit" or pissing someone off as j_nizzle put it, and it just becomes a random act.

I really appreciate everyone support in this thread and I can only hope this never happens to anyone on here. It's one of the worst feelings to be so livid about a prized possession getting vandalized, but at the same time powerless to do anything about it.

After about $300 in replacing the slashed tire and getting a detail, the car is back up and running and looking sexy as hell again!Â* :grin:

I want to thank everyone on this thread for their support and feedback, and if this ever happens to anyone you know in the future, Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser is a good first step to getting the paint off. A detail may be needed to get the leftover smudges off.

But overall, I'm extremely happy my baby is back on the road... but now if it would just stop rainingÂ* :-\

Yes :grin: However, the detail was needed for this to happen. Otherwise, if I looked at the paint at an angle, the clear coat had a few cloudy areas.

Just to update. My neighbors car was just vandalized here in Fountain Valley off of edinger and Brookhurst. White Civic EK was also parked on the street. Front Window bashed out and AF or SF spray painted on the side of the car. Seems like they only target cars parked on the side of the street. I talked to my friend who is a OC officer and he said it has been common for this to happen within the past 3-4 weeks. So if you live around this area I guess do not leave your car parked on the street.

i'm starting to see more and more vandalism on cars around here lately...mines wasn't bad as these tagging situations but I was parked at my buddy's house. and we were playing poker and then all of a sudden a horn goes off..it was 3am..it wasn't anything so we just continued on..then when i came out..a huge grapefruit was laying on my windshield..it was obvious it was thrown onto my windshield b/c the juices were all over it....i was pissed..i know it may not sound as bad but my car is my pride and joy..these fools better not let me catch them..or i'll make them disappear....

Update!!

Ok well the guys who hit the Civic on our street came back and tried to hit one of our friends cars one night. I saw them pull up next to our friends integra with lights off. They only hit cars parked on the street, and seems like they pick on modified cars. I saw the same car drive by 5 minutes before from my bedroom window. It was a 2007 or 2006 Honda Accord Gunmetal sedan, Dark Grey with 3 people in the car. They will roll by with no lights usually before hitting their target. They are youngsters and I ran out as quietly as I could to catch at least one of them. Only one guy gets out of the car from the rear passenger side and tried to start spray painting but they saw me and took off. Couldnt get the license plate unfortunately. The next week after I got back from work, they hit an integra at the other end of our street. If you see a darker 2006 or 2007 accord rolling through your neighborhood, keep an eye out. Also windows are tinted cant really see inside.

Just to update. My neighbors car was just vandalized here in Fountain Valley off of edinger and Brookhurst. White Civic EK was also parked on the street. Front Window bashed out and AF or SF spray painted on the side of the car. Seems like they only target cars parked on the side of the street. I talked to my friend who is a OC officer and he said it has been common for this to happen within the past 3-4 weeks. So if you live around this area I guess do not leave your car parked on the street.

You should try to grab the kid as he tries to spraypaint and slap him around for a bit before letting him go. Then, as his friends wait for him to get in (assuming they're not little bitches and speed away without their friend), have someone jot down their license plate number, then report it to the police. You'll have the satisfaction of attacking the vandals while reporting them to the police, and since the cops won't show up that very moment (since they'll start searching with the license plate) you'll get away with it.

But really, the whole physical protection of those who vandalize is bullshit. A lot of the time these kids get away before the cops even arrive and after the fact can't even be identified. If the law would allow offensive protection of one's property, including cars, then these crime rates would go down.

Think about it. If it's on the news that some piece of shit lowlives got caught by the owner of a vehicle they were fucking with and were beaten to within inches of their lives left, then that would put an abrupt stop to these types of incidents

I say we come up with an anti-theif logo and tattoo on their face. Of course a shotgun enema gets the point across pretty well too....kinda hard to spot the entrance wound also.
