I don't know if this topic has been covered since I didn't search, but I found one station off El Cajon blvd and the 15 that sells this. What's your thoughts on this? I've heard nothing but good things about this alternate fuel, but that we shouldn't be using it in our cars because the rubber seals will break down. Anyone?

Yeah, there are a few threads on here about the E85. It would be nice to use as it is a much higher octane but only avaliable in limited locations. Skiracer - if you know him, runs E85 quite often in his car and is super happy with it. Much cleaner, better performance, and its cheaper. There is an extensive thread about this though, its interesting stuff.

I plan to run it exclusively as well. Especially since this is on a weekend car!

I don't think I'm ready for worse gas mileage though, its bad enough already.

Let's see: e85= 2.97 gallon
91= 4.00 gallon in west la
20% less fuel economy but power like 7.00+ gallon race gas
25% cheaper though

similar cost to 91 on a net basis but you fill up more often...

Yup, definitely worth it. Just wish there was more local stations. Driving 45min every time you need to fill up could get old very quick.

If you gotta drive 45 minutes everytime there would be no benefit. With the worse mileage, by the time you got home you could only go to the store than back to fill up. You'd have fun on the drive home though :P

I'm in San Diego, but the closest (and only) station is in El Cajon which is about as far South as anybody wants go before hitting Mexico. I'm closer to the UCSD area. Maybe more like 30min, but it is still too much!

Yeah I saw that one too, off the 15 on El Cajon blvd right? I think its the same one, and it's actually closer to north park.
