I had some major rubbing problems with my 18x9.5+12's so I picked up a fender roller and got to work

Hmmm... The Flare job looks pretty good in those pics...

Did you have any problems keeping it uniform/clean with those spot welds inside the fender when you were flaring them?

I wanted to do that, but I was weary about having the flaring job look like crap- like I had body damage...so I stopped at the roll...

I didn't run to any problems with keeping the flare clean looking and not wavy. I was scared at first since this was my first time on an Evo but it turned out nice and clean looking.

i just folded the lip + fender liner tabs up, it was hard to roll the fronts flat because the small lip on the fender.

ill try to get a hold of a camera so i can show you guys how it tuned out.

It won't matter if I roll my fronts, because I will still rub at full lock due to the Rallyarmor mud flaps. 18x9.5 here as well, but I think the 255/40 tires are the root of the problem. 265/35 would solve this problem I bet.

silentdancer
02-26-2008, 07:40 PM
heat gun, thats all that was needed.

helpful tip: if you are rolling be gradual with the pressure and be sure to apply constant heat so the paint stays flexible

I am running 255/40 and rubbed the fender liner as well. I have since removed it, but I still rub on whatever is behind the fender which happens to be the Varis sideskirts and Ralliarmor mudflaps.

any problems running without the liner?

any problems running without the liner?

None at all. I personally think that if you remove liners and daily drive the car though, you should have mudflaps as lots of crap does get kicked up and they will help keep it out of the weird places.

r0me0ne
03-02-2008, 12:41 AM
^^^depends on your suspension, and of course size and offest of your wheels..mostly 9.5 but some need rolling with 9.0 width wheels...

If anyone needs fenders heated, rolled or pulled hit me up too. I have 2 fender rollers. One for Basic rolling and one with a longer arm and larger angle adjustments for cars with wide oem wide fenders. I mostly did FR car but can do other cars as well.

dead-pirate if it's stock bbs rims then no you won't need a roll. i had swifts on my car with stock size rims and tires. if the rims you're getting is not stock then if the offset is lower than 30 then you'll possibly need a roll depending what tire size you choose
