Obama wants to raise taxes on high income individuals from 34% to 50%. And he says no raise for middle class.. he will if he gets in.

Depends on his definition of Higher Income. Those of us here in Cali are making bank compared to people in other states yet we are scraping by because its so damned expensive here. So if by definition those of us in that payscale might be having a worse time of things.

Personally what REALLY needs to be done is to start getting those large companies that are "american" companies but moved their headquarters to a different country so they could avoid paying taxes yet still enjoy a lot of givernment handouts and protections here. Ya know companies like HALIBURTON! Billions of dollars a year yet no taxes. Gets prime contracts and doesnt have to bid on them, gets government handouts and yet gets away with that crap. How many people would you need to tax to recoup that BS?

Fix that crap and after recouping that kinda money start hitting up peoples money if need be. That and get us out of stupid situations where we are dumping cash by the second.

My point being, he is hiking upper class now because it is such a small vote percent so he doesn't care, but what says once he is in he won't raise other groups' taxes.

Instead of raising taxes, it's time to cut some of the government programs and handouts and cut some expenses.

Presidents have veto power and can influence which bills are coming through. If congress and the senate are in a democrat majority and they push through a bill that the president doesn't veto and his administration helps push ideas for, wouldn't you then agree that the President's views would have some influence?

Not that I'm a clinton fan, but we had a budget surplus at the end of his administration. He most certainly did not tax and spend along the lines of the old democratic stereotype.

Look at Obama's advisors, they're economic all-stars. Obamas just playing out the populist card because he had to campaign in states like Ohio where manufacturing has gone over seas.

Look at the mess we're in now. A republican president and, up until now, a republican dominated house and senate. Bridge to nowhere ring a bell? The repubs are as good as any democrat at porking it out, if not way way better in the last 8 years.

I miss the old republicans, the ones that weren't held hostage by this new neocon bs that is clearly a total failure.

I agree. The Republican idea is for LESS government, balanced good spending, and for states rights. This so called Republican regime has bloated our government, spent uncontrollably and irresponsibly, and has failed at ANYTHING they have touched. Domestic policy, international policy, economical policy are all messed up and not by a little bit, but by a lot. I mean how can you screw so much up, if you have congress, the senate, and the media all pulling in your direction!? In this case....Everything. I say that whole group needs to be impeached and deported to the middle east.

Exactly. At the time it was irritating. But after the last several years, if the guy gets a hummer from interns, and can take of this country, and it comes out better for it, my only issue is that there should be hotter interns for him. After all JFK got Marilyn Monroe, our President should be tapping some fine ass. I mean he's the President! He should make sure its only fine ass he's tapping.

I mean the issues that bug me are mostly republican.

Anti-Drug campaign. Im not a user, but I have issue with the billions of dollars spent on being self destructive, and which has brought nothing but more drugs. Sending bad money after good.

Issues of church and state. Its constitutional to have them separate. Leave your church out of my politics.

Corporate interests supplanting people's rights. Its the people's government last time I checked. Act like it!

Pushing federal laws that are more restrictive than a state's laws that are petty, and punishing those states that dont want to comply.

Giving tax cuts to the top 1.5% and letting large companies have HUGE tax shelters. Lets face it. Those two alone paid what they should, no one else would have to pay income tax. Plus some leftover.

Pushing laws that remove Habeas Corpus. Pushing laws that allow the government to spy on Americans without due process. hell the removal OF due process!

However Democrats piss me off with affirmative action. I thought all men were created equal? I believe in equal opportunity for all. No program, no job, no schooling should be denied to anyone based on color, or race. It should not even be a question, or even brought up at all unless you want, "What race am I, I'm part of the F*ck You race!" Affirmative Action is racist!

Letting small, petty interests dominate their politics. BS. Take care of the majority. Dont give out everyone's money after the whiniest f'n assholes. Especially ones that dont want to work.

Passing laws on gun control. 2nd Amendment! Read it. Learn it. Love it. If you are thinking of gun control some more? Keep reading it. Again. The only gun control that should be practiced is not shooting someone that doesnt deserve it.

Welfare. Any of you know people on welfare? I have met some. Those shiesty MFers need to get a goddamn job and WORK. Im all in favor of limited welfare in the name of unemployment. We all pay in for it, and its needed especially in this job market where people work for a year and thats almost considered long term. However people living off of taxpayers money for years on end?! F THAT!

While Im at it, F paying for illegal immigrants. These laws we have are stupid! A child is born in the US from two illegals? He is NOT a US citizen then! I would think its common sense, but a citizen should be made by at least one f'n citizen and even THATS a tad liberal in my book, but I'll be generous and say that much. But two non-citizens?! Whoever came up with that idea needs to be shot thorugh each major organ in alphabetic order.
