make sure you have enough batt on your laptop and your car battery is above 12v

The cable is listed as a Mitsubishi 1.3M cable under Device Management. Battery should be find since I recently put in a Optima Red Top. Will check voltage just in case though. I've been running the laptop on battery so I'm thinking this might be the problem! The battery is nearing the end of it's life cycle so even at "full charge" I get only 30min out of it. I do recall grabbing my previous ROM with the laptop plugged in. I think this might be it! Will test it tonight. Keep the thoughts coming just in case. Appreciate it fellow San Diegans O0

its should be your battery voltage..get your battery charged at some auto place like Auto Zone for free, then put it back on the car and drive it around for 5min with everything off and then park and it will work :) same thing happened to my friend's car.. and we got it to work this way..sometimes it will work by just driving your car around for a bit then trying it..

Most likely one of these three.

1. Low battery voltage

2. Locked ECU where the init code has been altered from 0001

3. Bad flashing cable (usually caused by jumper wire not getting voltage or damaged etc.....)

Good Luck

download the ecu unlocker from aktivematrix.com, that should solve your problem.

Yeah, I think he solved the problem last time I spoke to him about it, since it was over 7 months ago :P.
