my friend showed me this link about his friend

http://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/15904406/detail.html?dl=mainclick

what caught my attention was the 'tuned by reese' sticker, makes me think it was an evo or subie, hopefully its not someone on here. . . .

Just read that... Same thing caught my attn: Tuned by Reese.

Thankfully whoever it was survived. That is one bad accident.

He's lucky as hell to survive that.

they said it was a 2007 black honda civic??

a honda with a reese sticker on it doesn't make any sense to me.

I would think that an NSX would own a Honda. Anyone with a Black Evo in that area race an NSX? I wonder if anyone will admit to it.

they also say his car is an acura integra when its an nsx, you gotta remember a lot of ppl aren't into cars, you put a civic and an evo next to eachother they would probably think its the same

Reese might have some unexpected visitors soon.

that's true about the honda civic identity.. but dang.. you're right.. reese may be having some unexpected visitors soon..

First and foremost I would like to send my sympathy out to the family and the owner of the vehicle involved in the accident.

We do not promote or condone street racing in any aspect, I would also like to add that till this point we have only worked and tuned Mitsubishis and Subarus.

Damn, that is one mangled car. Â*So terrible when ish like this happens. Â*

Comment on the Reese Tuning Sticker is that eh, buncha people put random sticks on there car. Â*Like AEM on stock civics. Â*People put that stuff on there since its +hp.

I just wish they didn't close Carlsbad or they opened a new track in San Diego. How could they close the only track when there was a huge problem with street racing here. Qualcomm is way too fucking expensive for some 8th mile bullshit.

GREAT. Even more attention for us. Everyone drive careful now.

There has been more attention to us than it had ever been. Thanx to those stupid ricers (that includes some evo owners too who gives us a bad rap) who made the cops looked like we're part of those fawkers. And there's this thing called profiling. They're pull us over left and right. No matter how safe u drive, how good u follow the rules or how stock ur car look, ur bound to get pulled over somehow, sometime, someday. :-(

that guy is just freaking out, of course out of all the tb evos with a reese sticker, he is going to remember the caged one with 500whp. my heart goes out to the nsx driver and family, but did the tb evo cause the nsx to crash? i highly doubt it, he was racing just like the tb so why is he pissed and making it sound like the nsx was innocent??

WhiteIXMR
04-17-2008, 07:57 AM
I guess he's just looking for closure also b/c he doesn't want to admit the fact that his buddy was street racing and got hurt for doing so. He wants to see someone else pay for it too so it doesn't make his friend look bad on his own. If he should be mad and upset at anyone..he should be mad at his buddy for making that choice to race also..both parties are at fault and for that guy to wish that the other guy is going to turn himself in?..he's in a whole lot of trouble already if he does so we all know he won't be doing so unless someone rats him out.

wsmc27
04-17-2008, 08:09 AM
...kinda like the old "it take two to tango" saying, huh?

Hope the guy recovers well.

...and shame on the two drivers for risking themselves and others on the public streets. Call it a tragedy, but what if some young couple and their two kids were out for an afternoon bicycle ride or just strolling along right in that area, right when the dumbasses dropped those clutches? Sad to think of!

Sorry for the EYE that'll be on the TB guys...fly low and slow, eh?

I'm also saddened for what the Reese guys may have to deal with. When you guys run stickers on cars keep in mind, even when you're not actually sponsored there is a connection there, and if you really LIKE the products (or good people like Reese and his staff) then show some respect and act dignifed (even if some jacka$$ is revvin' his noisy ol' Cobra or something up next to you at a light).

$0.02 thanks for lettin' me vent

Nice find on AWJ. I dont think it is the other guy's fault that he crashed. It's fucked up that he left but I am sure a lot of us would have done the same shit if we were racing someone and they crashed. It's his own fault that he was racing and lost control. You should know when to slow down when you are going fast.

04-17-2008, 09:23 AM
great... another reason why i am allways debating selling the evo..

i hate the fact that i always have to checking my surroundings for cops when all i want to do is take a nice trip to the beach with some friends..

sucks to hear but just because the NSX crashed and he got hurt doesent mean he isnt guilty just as much as the car that didnt crash.. hope he has a "speedy" recovery and learned a big lesson :-\

but the other car will def. be in more troubble outside of street racing.

drive safe.

I have been reading everyone’s opinion on this very unfortunate incident. I truly hope and pray that the driver of the NSX pulls out and recovers from his very serious injuries. Believe me when I say I empathize with the family as well.

I also have read the responses from others on this very issue on the AWJ forums, I can’t believe that fellow all wheelers actually want this guy (of the Black car) to turn himself in. There isn’t one person on these sites that illegally street race and the KEY word is ILLEGALLY street race would have pulled over or waited for the authorities, let alone TURN yourself in, and if you say that you would have. I will tell you to your face that you’re a lying hypocrite. Street Racing is illegal and not a characteristic of some one with good character. So pulling over is not an option for those that promote or are involved with such activities. You get behind the wheel of a high performance vehicle and there is a certain responsibility that comes with that, it’s called maturity. I can’t agree more with the ol cliché that “it takes two to tango” someone has to be the adult here when faced with this dilemma. Race or NOT to race, kill or be killed. Fellas it’s a loaded gun, if you don’t respect it someone is going to get hurt. For what? To say I smoke some guy in a Evo, Porsche...Those two drivers should thank their lucky stars no one innocent got hurt or even killed ie that poor guy cleaning his fucking pool, never again to see his family because some dumbass ran a RED light. I have a performance car, I enjoy and respect other folk’s performance cars, but I’m also responsible mature adult about it.

The bottom line is we all have choices to make, as adults and young adults we have to live with those choices we make (good or bad). But sometimes we forget how our choices can and will effect others. In this case the family of the driver that made the wrong choice. That’s who I really feel for, those few seconds of a bad decision is going to cost that family months maybe years of aguish.

This is a lesson we all can learn from.

I agree mines black and I asked for a sticker today. The problem I see is any jump on the accelerator can be defined as racing by any officer any time. We have all probably been stoped because of how your car looks, or ticketed for something the officer saw another car that looks like yours do . We have off duty officers every year who feel they are entitled to shoot citizens, just because they are pissed off. The least we can do is not speculate on or point the finger at each other. I lived to be 60 because I learned not to street race at 20 [when it didn't mean a felony record]. I also learned help THE MAN when he's the good guy, but remember HE will become the GESTAPO IF YOU LET HIM, ABUSE OF POWER IS HUMAN NATURE. Wait a minute, HA HA, both street racing and harsh enforcement are both abuse of power.

The guy should really turn himself in. Even though it wasn't his fault he is going to get caught. He should talk to a lawyer and surrender himself before he makes himself look any worst. At least then his conscious won't bother him and he can maybe bargain a deal and explain why he didn't stop.

MOTSEVIR
04-29-2008, 09:29 PM
Did you ever consider the possibility that not only would law enforcement monitor this forum, but also suggest turning yourself in? With a felony conviction and possible manslaughter on the table they don't make it easy. Don't race it could ruin your life even if it doesn't cost you your life, we get the message. But do you want to be the example used to scare the rest of us? It's not a lot different from cutting off your hand to discourage stealing or stoning you to death for adultery. I feel bad for everyone involved but if you trust the law to do the right thing just remember those kids in Escondido.

I've got a TB Evo IX and I work literally blocks away from the accident site (and NO, it wasn't me). All my co-workers heard the sirens the day of the wreck and wondered what was going on. I drive my TB Evo every other day 30 miles one way to and from work and have never even gotten a second glance from the local cops. I guess it's because I look older, the car isn't riced out, and I don't drive like a frickin tool.

While I feel sorry for the guy in the NSX and his family, as soembody pointed out, it does take two to tango and he's just as much at fault for the outcome as the other guy is (if not more).
