View Full Version : NEED Experts on Transmission
I got my car towed and I don't think they used a dolly!
I took the car out and everything seems fine when I am driving normal and then I try flooring it a few times from 1st-3rd gear and I felt a big hesitation from 1st and 2nd gear and on 3rd gear its not pulling period....
Could the above be transmission related?

The Tcase is shot trust me on that one we see it all the time better have it checked out and get some money from the tow company.
Yeah I would probably need something documented from a Mitsu dealership stating the tech has inspected the tcase and it is bad so I can show the towing company.
I just called the towing company and they are claiming that it was dollied. I was there when they pulled another evo that was parked across from me by two wheels so I am pretty sure they did the same on mine.
So they said they are not responible....

Sounds like a Lawsuit to me :/ And a new Transfer case for you ^^
^^the problem with cases like this is that there is no proof that they didn't put it on the dolly. On the receive they gave me says they dollied it. So its really my words against the towing companies...

Sorry to hear about it. But the truth of the matter is that you should have absolutely requested a flatbed...and nothing else. Now you're going to have to go through a battle just to get the tow company to own up to their mistake. Worth it? Maybe.

yea but you better get it checked out before u jump on anything..
Roy, I know we discussed this at the meet but maybe someone else can shed some light.
As we discussed, the car may have been towed on 2 wheels. We know the other evo got towed on its 2 front wheels. Now I was reading a while back on evom that if you have the handbrake up there is a sensor there that disconnects the center differential in order to prevent damage to your drivetrain on "handbrake" turns. So if this is true, and you did state that they towed your car with the hand brake up, then wouldn't your car essentially be ok? I'm no expert, so anyone with insight to this issue please correct me if I'm wrong! I'll try my best to search for the thread on EvoM.
Here's 2 threads with people saying that the handbrake disengages the Center Diff.
