I bought my "squash" air freshener in January. About 3 months later it started to lose most of its smell. Well instead of buying a new one for 12 bucks from autobacs I hacked up this old one and it smells like its almost brand new.

To open it up, pry open the black part where it meets the blue part.

You now gave access to the gelly scent part.

This is what it looks like:

Now take a pair of scissors and cut right up the middle of it like so:

You now get 2 pieces that look like this:

Take 1 half and insert it into the bottom slit in the middle AC vents like so:

The end result looks like this. It sits flush within the vent and does not fly out so far. I'll test this out next week at an autocross to see if they fly out during hard cornering.
