The reduction of the scoop helps with air velocity. You can have a larger area of incoming air, but if its not moving as fast as the air should, you won't get the cooling benefit.

You don't really want to increase the airflow into the engine bay much from stock. For the most part that scoop is to cool off the turbo assembly that is glowing red hot.

If you increase airflow there, you will keep the turbo cooler which isn't bad, but you will reduce downforce (well okay more like increased upforce). Best bet is to keep all the stock heatshields on and leave the scoop stock for now.

Increasing the flow out of the engine bay would be a better use of effort if you want to mess with the ducting.

i recently removed those those aluminum covers as well. heat has dropped . i know this is a old ass forum but oh well.

rule of thumb: sin(theta) where theta is
