All the reason we need to start drilling NOW in the US. Damned tree huggers, Dems and RINOS have put us in a very bad place.

Now is the time to act otherwise we will be hearing well it will take 15 years to get any supply from this. Sound familiar? If ANWR would have been tapped years ago we would be reaping the benefits of it by now. As it sits what you posted is what we get.

Sad thing is NONE of the candidates for president are going to do anything except make us more dependent on them.

I read somewhere that California has twice as much oil in the soil than Texas!!!! but environmentalist are holding the digging back.

I would imagine that would make a huge difference in prices if we refined more oil here and sold it to other states around, while making oil much cheaper for everyone.

Alaska is another place that holds a lot of oil but again environmentalist are preventing digging to happen there, plus it would be much harder to dig in alaska because of climate and the terrain issues that workers would have to endure.

You would be correct sir! Not sure about your first statement but the rest are spot on! It is time to tell the environuts that we have had enough. They are a BIG reason things are the way they are. Wonder when someone in power is going to get the message though?

GW should just do an executive order that says that we are going to start drilling in the US starting tomorrow. I know I'm in fantasy land there though, there is no one in charge who seems to want to do anything but the same old.

I wanted to puke when Bush went to Saudi Arabia to ask them to pump more oil. If we were doing our own exploration he wouldn't have to do that. Hope someone comes to their senses soon. When is it going to be too much for a gallon of fuel? Guess time will tell.

that vid was dumb.Â* dubai took a big chance developing because they knew their oild would not last forever. they knew they didnt have much oil and profits from oil would not hold them forever, so they would not have any more income from oil.Â* so they developed in hopes of finding a new source of income and they did.Â* they used their oil fortunes to build their economy but they are not the reason oil prices are high.Â* they are a small producer of oil compared to the big oil producing nations. and you dont see the big nations doing that because they have tons of oil to sustain them for a long while.

I think diggin in Cali would create jobs and perhaps California can finally have the revenue to get out of debt!!!
and If they only digged in Rural areas such as the high desert or most of central california nobody would be affected in their daily lives... too bad im just a 22 year old guy with no connections to pitch this idea to congressman or the Governator...

I agree, but I don't believe we'll see the $2/gallon we had a few years back when this steadily climb started. Also with the scare of "Peak Oil" and rising demand in oil from Asia along with the weakening US dollar isn't going to help us at all. Our situation sounds more and more like when US supposedly reached Peak Oil in 1970 and then getting hit with the 1973 Arab Embargo, and then few years later some scientist said they fucked up the math and down comes the oil.

IMO, this oil "crisis" is all a hoax.

precisely. from the economics standpoint, this market, like any others, will push for efficiency.

heh :2funny: this shit just makes me laugh. The American govt is making a shit load of money from these prices as well along with the American oil companies.

Yeah I agree with you guys on this, that oil is going to come down, but we will never see anything lower to 2.50 again and for sure it’s going to take out industries like independent truck drivers by at least 2010. People in this country will start flocking to hybrids lowering down our consumption on foreign oil and those environmentalist will most likely succeeded on us no drilling in California and Alaska. But this is going to probably all take about 2-3 years of high gas prices. Oh well guess I just got to suck it up and fill up 55 bucks every week…..:( Looking for a piece of crap civic for like under a grand to save on gas…..not trying to get rid of my car.

This country has more oil than Saudi Arabia. We have hauge reserves in Colorado, California, off the coast of California, off the West Coast. The problem is all the tree huggers and politicians that think it will hurt the tourist industry because people dont want to see oil rigs everywhere. We have one huge one in Wyoming and Colorado called the Green river Shale that would supply lots of oil for us. Alaska has a$$ loads of oil that is on land owned by the Gov but they wont let companies drill.

Oh to back this up I just talked to my brother who has worked in the oil industry for the past 20 years and he travels to different countries drilling for oil. He has drilled all over the US, Russia, Venezuela, Canada, and Columbia and he says its BS that we cant drill here in our own country becaus eof the tree huggers.
