Yup, those are +30, 8mm spacers at the front, rolled fenders at the rear. Mine, I didnt roll it and it tucks perfectly!

Here are some pics of the rims from this Saturday from Reese Tuning Grand Opening. My car was strapped down and rear tucked in perfectly, no rub at all. No fender rolling done. Still for sale

Cool shots on the dyno. Those wheels are really starting to grow on me.

The fronts hang a little too much out of the fenders IMO. I like them otherwise though.

It's not as bad in person.

yeah, those rims are sweet. Do you think spacers and rolling the fenders are necessary if they're 17's?

the spacers at the front is for clearing the brakes calipers. i did not roll the rears and it clears fine. 17's or 18's, if the offset is +30 for the P45R, spacers is a must! (not unless you replace the brake calipers ;))

What size tires you got? Cuz right now I've got Falcon Azenis 255 45 17's on my BBS's. I'd like to just switch them over but I'm not sure if there would be clearance issues with those rims and my tires.

245/40/18. 255 would rub, therefore you need to roll the fenders.

roll the fenders, huh? Can u rent that device? I remember seeing somewhere that a fenders roller was like $150. Kind of useless to buy the thing to only use ur once.

Also, where did u get your Rota's from? About how much did they cost you?

I know you can rent it. couple of san diego member has them. I got my p45r from the owner of the picture you have and replaced one of them bec of a very minor ding ( im anal like that). subydude usually has the best prices for the rotas.

^^^just to let you know its not subydude no longer, its wheeldude. Just in case you want to google it...and I used to have the P45R 18x 9.5 30offset in Time Attack with 255-40-18 falkens and i needed to roll my fenders as well.

nicklulu: thanks for the info!

BLKevoIX: you Had Rotas? Why did u decide to get rid of them? And when u say "roll the fenders" is that both front and rear?

CRX2EVO: why "FTL"?

The 18's require the spacer, 17's clear with no spacers.

I have had both and I love them, very good wheels. I run 275/40/17 NT-01's on the track and they don't flex at all, even with the big sticky rubber. Believe me I would know if they flex too since there is mm's worth of clearance on the rear suspension arms and the front calipers. If they had any real flex they would come into contact with eather or, you know?

I have a set of Super Advan Racing Ver 2 and these rotas. Most people don't like the rotas bec rotas make copies of the high end wheels from japan. So if you're particular with brand name rims, they are not too keen on imitations/copies and such. But Rotas are good rims. really strong, but other people will beg to differ and say they are a piece of crap. to each their own.

^^^ I know and understand what your saying. But people should stop lying about Rota quality, you know?

Kellendros08
06-07-2008, 01:13 PM
so Rota's make copies of other brands? Isn't that kinda ghetto?

WW IX RS: so your 275's fit the 17's without having to roll the fenders or spacers?

I hear that man, they are one of the most reliable rims out there. they need to consider these rims are made from a country that the roads are not even close to smooth or even cemented. they made thses rims to withstand off road conditions. for the price, they are more than what you paid for.

Yes the 275's fit on the 17x9.5's. They also make a 17x9 but I would suggest a 255 on that.

But running that huge of a tire like the 275/40/17 requiers massive rolling and pulling in the rear, also the relocation of the top bolt on the rear bumper that attatches it to the rear quarter panel. The front fenders had to be pulled also and if you have ACD its a good idea to relocate the front wheel speed sensors so that you dont risk making contact with them when turning the wheels at full lock. Its a bit of a project, lol.

When I was running the 18x9.5's I had 235/35/18 tires and I had the car at a 2 finger fender to tire gap all around with no rub. Every thing was factory so no rolling or pulling at the time. But I do need to mention the car was on very stiff coilovers so there was no squat you know? I also had a fair amount of camber on that alignment.

Exactly, I'm glad there are a few people out there that can get past the fact that they aren't Volks or Advans, yet realize theyare still awesome wheels.

So do you think that I'll need to roll the fenders and/or have spacers with the 17 x 9 with my Falcons at 255?

Honestly I wouldn't be able to give you an answer for that. When you do a 255 on the 18x9.5 you do need to roll the rear and maybe you can get away in the front depending on camber. I don't recommend rolling the fronts since the alum gauge is so thin. It will eather crack or not be very uniform, a bit hit or miss in other words.

But on your exact setup your doing it might just work, but I don't have a for sure answer for you, sorry.

The only Rota that I like is the P45R. Especially the black/red lip looks so damn sexy on black evo. Too bad they need spacers to fit them on evo or I would have got a set already. Good looking wheels at a very affordable price.
