you do know you can get tuned for 87 right?

You hear about the guys who were draining newer cars plastic gas tanks. stabbing a hole in the bottom of them, since they are plastic, and ganking all the fuel, lulz. Sucks nuts when it comes to that.

I'm over the gas prices, I still drive everywhere that I want to go just doing the speed limit and shifting early.

gas prices fking suck!!!
the price we pay at the moment is near 100 octane level back in the days.. never imagine the price of regular gas would reach this high so fking soon!!!! :buck2:

It will definitely be 5$ by July 4.. Â* Nice thing about it is that traffic's been much better - less people on the road..

I've been scoping out a Honda Civic 199X already - 38 MPG FTW. Â*The EVO will end up being a garage queen (which is fine by me).

No boost I mean by staying in vacuum. On the streets I don't shift past 3K and it takes me awhile to get up to speed. Lately on the freeway I've been doing 65MPH which is just about 3K on the IX 5 speed. When I filled up last night I got 22.455603MPG or something like that when I divided my mileage by how much I put into my tank. Just stay out of boost and keep the rpms low and you will get half way decent mileage. I want to achieve moar and I am hoping I can with this tank as I just changed my fluids and plugs. Watch your gauge, stay in vacuum. Once it hits that 0 you are done for.

I'm not down for a strike. It is absolutely necessary for me to drive and have fuel as I am a plumber and am always driving here and there. I can't afford to make my car a garage queen... 1. Cause I am still paying for it and 2. Our garage is full of random bs. I just fill up and go on with my day.

Yeah, Im sure it wll be 5 bucks by the 4th. Im glad I filled the boat up last year so that shit has a full tank. 52gallons @ 89 octane is gonna kill fwith the current prices but eh, you gotta pay to play. I haven't noticed less people on the road, traffic is still gridlock even morning and night during my commute to santa monica and back.

OK tard school is in session. Â*The GOVERNMENT takes 15% on each gallon of gas. Â*The oil companies only get 4% who is making out the most?

Get informed junior the oil companies want to drill and the DAMNED government and enviro nuts deny this at every turn. Â*I'm sure there is some blame to be cast on them but think about it man. Â*

If we would have tapped our resources in the US 10 years ago we WOULD NOT be in the shit storm we are in now. Â*There are enough reserves to last us LONG after we are all worm food.

If he is getting 270 MPG there are a lot more people that want to know. Â*How about 270 to a tank? Attention to what you are typing for crying out loud!!!!

with that said, i try to think optimistically about it. at $5/gallon = less people on the road = better chance of freeway commuters to stay in high gear, cruising = better gas mileage.

yes, you will be spending more on gas but hell...cant beat the open road

(yes, i know my views and opinions of flawed but you have to imagine that people elsewhere in the world are paying double what we are paying for gas)

i gave up driving to, and from work..its only a 1.2 mile walk anyway..i used to have fun having to fill up my tank 1ce a month in my integra..sold it, got the 09 corolla and 2 weeks later, the evolution..

the corolla was for the wife, we just put in 20$ a week..regardless of the amount thats in the tank which is usually half a tank..

the evo IX in the other hand, i found myself filling up every weekend and only get around 160 by the time i hit the 1/4 mark

so i put the keys away for the evo monday, wednesday, and friday..i take the corolla and carpool with the wife these days..ahahha..then walk my ass to work tuesday and thursdays..

on sepulveda and chatsworth..

I just purchased a 92 Acura Integra (Yeah, I know...) that gives me 32~ Hwy mpg on 87 octane...I don't think anything we do to the Evos can beat this....and the car only cost me $2k....

I work 45 miles 1 way from home....thats about 1800 miles in one month....thats alot of miles...Basically I went from spending $525+ month to about $250 a month...thats $275 in saving a month on gas...this car will pay for it self while saving me the miles on my Evo...

Ride a motorcycle. I ride the most powerful production bike made, and I get over 35mpg. 200hp motorcycle..
There are plenty that get way north of 50, and some as high as 70mpg. You also enjoy your commute on a bike

OK tard school is in session. The GOVERNMENT takes 15% on each gallon of gas. The oil companies only get 4% who is making out the most?
Get informed junior the oil companies want to drill and the DAMNED government and enviro nuts deny this at every turn. I'm sure there is some blame to be cast on them but think about it man.

If we would have tapped our resources in the US 10 years ago we WOULD NOT be in the shit storm we are in now. There are enough reserves to last us LONG after we are all worm food.

i say we organize a strike!!! the last one worked n hurt the gas companies pretty bad.. n prices drop alittle... whos down to make this happen?

California has what they call "gourmet gas" they try to put all these oxygenated additives on it to make it cleaner, only to make that SHiat worse. The C.A.R.B. (california Air Reseach Board) and the government is worried about preserving about a freaking "mosquito" in Alaska. This is why we havent freaking tapped into our resources and choose to pay $138 and change for a barrel of crude oil. If "we" the people organize a day without "GAS" the govt and the OPEC will definitely feel an impact. I agree on passing out the word in other forums and organize a "day with out gas". Its time that we get our voice across or nothing will be done...might as well just bow our heads and take it up the A$$.

I was predicting this was going to happen early this year. So, 3 months ago since my prediction was slowly becoming a reality of gas prices rising, and maybe hitting close to $6.00 by mid summer. I bought a Toyota Yaris. The Evo sits in the garage and is only driven on weekend pleasure drives. If I had continued to use the Evo as a daily driver to and from work...monthly gas cost for it reached ~$500!!! For those not familiar with the Toyota Yaris. It get's really good gas mileage if all you're doing is commuting on the freeways with a little bit of city street driving. The actual motor on the Yaris is the same gas motor used in the Prius minus the electric motor and the fugly shape of it. And good news for me is that I'm keeping miles off the Evo, paying $250 on a new car that cost $170 a month on gas to fill up. I get a new car easy on my pocket....so I guess I'll be tuning the Yaris to get the most miles out of it....I've evolved into a HYPERMILER!!!!! There is actually a following for the Yaris with tuning parts to back it up too....There's a girl with a TRD supercharged yaris that's getting 350 miles on a full tank of regular gas...and she boostin hard. :smitten:

Canada has a LARGE field of oil sands already. Takes a lot of heat to get the oil out of it though and they are rather remote. There's shale oil here in the states that we can't touch due to the damned environmental nuts also. These idiots are the reason gas is so high.

well like i said, if you want the best mileage try my technique. All i can say is it takes patience. And no, i disagree. Its the people who haul ass serving between cars because they woke up late for work are the ones who cause more accidents.

People past me all the time. I always stay on the furthest right lane and I still have people pasting me. When there's a car going slower then me from behind or in front, I am thankful. But other than that, I dont care if i go slow. When i make more money, or if someone tailgates me for a while, yhen i have a bit of fun.

Yeah.. high gas prices do effect every aspect of our lives. Damn near everything we consume spends time on a truck. If it's foreign made, it spent a lot of time on a boat. If you had to have it quick, it spent time on a plane. All these things burn fuel.
I have a question that so far I haven't found an answer for: We've spent billions and billions of our own money, rebuilding Iraq's infrastructure, economy (including it's oil production), and protecting it's people. Uh, why don't we take some of their oil to start paying us back? I mean, if we were able to see the future, and back then decided to spend the money on heading off this economy crash, and the ass-raping we're taking in the oil market, we'd be in a much better position. We can't see in the future, and instead spent the money on Iraq. Just so happens we restored their ability to generate a commodity that they have a lot of. Oil. We also (whether you believe in the war or not) relieved a lot of people from the oppressive regime they were living under. Why aren't we as a country standing up and screaming for some payback(oil)?

PineApple

This country is so ass backwards. I'm ready for "change" rofl. One thing I don't understand is spending money on space. that is one thing that still I feel in my opinion is a waste of money. Spending billions of dollars a year to go to Mars, for what? To send back pictures of nothing.

ev0ninerr

but Mars for what? what the hell do we need to do at mars? If there is anything valuable, it CANNOT be worth the cost of flying way the fuck out there and returning it to earth, its not possible. I do not understand why the fuck we go to mars. I can understand some aspects of Space Exploration for satelites and shit, but don't we know everything we need to know about the satellites and whatnot? end it.

ev0ninerr
06-15-2008, 09:19 PM
Satellites are already fully covered in terms of sending them up the most efficient way. Going to Mars, a hell of a lot more crap needed to figure things out. I have a buddy that designed one of the parts on the last rover or explorer they sent up there and man do they have the funds. They have money to pay separately the a-hole scientists that can't work with other people. Along with that, they keep hiring part-time people over summer for a good amount. WE need that money right now, not for the future as of yet.

I just read this. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080616/ap_on_bi_ge/oil_prices.

I guess the saudi production may go up 2% for june and july. On the bad side the dollar fell again so probably price increases since the dollar is connected to the oil prices.

Anyone see the thing on Aol News about Bush pushes congress to let us start drilling off the east and west coast? They turned it down because it wouldn't effect anything for another 4 to 5 years. :tickedoff:

500+ miles per tank on my accord FTW!!!

YOU SERIOUS dood!?!?!
500+ miles to the tank? Ha!

Dead Serious.... 103 miles round trip 2 work... 5 days = 515 miles... in one tank... filled up 15.190 gallons (17gal. tank)@ 4.63 = $70.47
that gives me 33.9mpg's on a 4 cyl. accord. 95% freeway miles with minumum traffic, cruising at 75mph. Not bad. Saves me a lot of money. I'd be broke if i was taking my evo. I had to fill up every other day.

http://blogs.usatoday.com/ondeadline/2008/07/ky-woman-charge.html?csp=34

A Kentucky woman was charged last week with trading sex for gasoline, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Police say Angela Eversole accepted a "$100 gas card and other gifts" from an Indiana man she met for a "sexual liaison" Friday night at a hotel in Fort Wright, Ky.

The paper says Eversole was charged with prostitution and operating a business without a license. Kenneth Nowak, 50, was charged with promoting prostitution.

WCPO-TV says Eversole's boyfriend denied the charges. "She's wrong for cheating on me, but that's what she was doing, so far as that goes. She definitively isn't a prostitute," Anthony Schaffner tells the station.
