Evo X GSR: 2 min 36.05 sec

just for reference the evo VIII MR did 1.26 in stock form!!!

The evo VIII fq400 did it in 1.24.8

The evo X did it in 1.28.22 :2funny:

gsrIXevo

but that was an 400 hp evo vs... a normal 286 hp evo. i think the regular gsr x evo was not the fq360 that he was driving around turns with.... i may have to watch that video again at work...lol

Yes but a evo 8 MR did it in 1.26 around top gears track. The evo X is over 2 seconds slower which is huge difference of time on a track.

Also in europe they measure crank horsepower so in reality the evo fq400 only has 330-350 whp... I think its easily attainable with bolt ons.

Where's that shown?
I saw where the regular Evo 8 did a 1:28.9, as they placed the STI's time card right on top of it. I didn't see any reference to the MR, and find it hard to believe that an MR and it's 6-speed/Bilsteins would be worth 2 seconds

VinceR

if you look at the evo fq400 v.s. Lamborghini clip they show the previous time of the evo 8 mr and compare it to the fq400...

I want the FQ360

You know...I used to salivate over it as well, until I figured out that it's just got more aggressive mapping, but it's like $12k more money. I dunno about the 400, but if the 360 is $12k more, the fuggin 400 is prolly about as much as a second Evo

as i said in my top gear thread i wish they showed the times of the fq360 too. also can you play ipod video on all the evo x screens? or is it a special feature.

did anyone here them mention a 6 speed? He said the fq360 had a 5 speed and the GSR had a 6 speed. The sad part is if you look at the power to weight ratio the fq360 was probably an equal match for the STi not the base GSR.

Terenus
06-30-2008, 10:21 AM
Yes, the FQ360 was a better match, but it's a modded evo vs a stock sti.

So the times were:

1:28.2 for STi
1:28.22 for Evo

Is that right?

RPD_FKTARD
06-30-2008, 11:20 AM
yes. all that drifting around sti and still slower lol

You are correct

Terenus

Don't forget the STi is about 190lb lighter than the X according to Motor Trend's X curb weight and Yahoo Auto's STi specs.

** Correction, 330lb difference was between X and IX.

The DRIFTING around the STI was done with an FQ360.

The actual test was done on the standard GSR. If you look in the video - the STI also had a drop the clutch launch, while he launched the X smoothly.

I think the 6 speed GSR that was tested is the one with the SST transmission? The Launch looked weak....

Yeah it did....

I wonder what times the FQ-360 would have pulled off....

I was wonder why they didn't really talk about the SST transmission, or does Europe actually have a regular 6 speed?

No they do not....they have a GSR 5-Speed, GSR TC-SST and an MR TC-SST...

ok so it was a gsr TC-sst which would make that gsr even heavier than then we thought.

i didnt read the other post in here.. but did u all see the nipples on the tp of the evo fq-360?
i thought i did nothing for the evo X lol....

VinceR

One thing....
I did like about the euro evo X is the more aggresive carbon fiber front lip also the seats say evolution X instead of recaro...

Terenus
06-30-2008, 01:37 PM
The carbon fiber lip was only on the FQ-360, which is the Ralliart lip for the Xs.

Yeah the twin clutch isn't that big of a deal, and I wonder how well it will hold to mods. And also slower to boot.

0-60 mph acceleration, sec.
EVO X GSR 4.9
EVO X MR 5.2

Quarter-mile acceleration, sec.
EVO X GSR 13.6
EVO X MR 13.9

EVO X GSR 101.3

According to

http://www.mitsubishi-motors-europe.com/models/newlancerevolution/technical

The GSR w/TC-SST weights 66 Lbs more than the GSR w/5-speed gearbox:

GSR 5-spd: 3438.24
GSR TC-SST: 3504.36
MR TC-SST: 3526.4

Which iirc is a wee bit lighter than the USA models.

Not starting a IX vs X flame war or anything ... just quoting from the clip.

I thought it would be impossible to make a four door saloon more exciting than the old Evo IX but with the X, they have.

and he also said he had no doubt the evo x would run a faster time then the sti :)-p

Haha, bevo stop rubbing it in, you're going to make them regret trading their IXs in.
