Â* So first of all I have to give all the thanks in the world to Khiem and Charlie over at MFQ.Â* I have been there customer for a few years and it is still by far the best place to get work done, by far.Â* If you haven't gone to MFQ to have work done, hang out, or check out a meet I highly suggest you do so, especially if you are in the area (there is a dyno day on this saturday, July 12th -- a perfect opportunity to experience the heartbreak dyno!).Â* Going to MFQ has been one of the best decisions I have made for my Evo.Â* Great service, install, and just an extremely comfortable place to do business.Â* Both these guys are Class-A individuals.Â* And now for the details.Â* I purchased the Agency Power short ram intake and the Artisan, single exit, test pipe back carbon ti exhaust.Â* The intake fit on like a glove, there wasn't many issues figuring it out.Â* The exhaust was a bit different of a story.Â* The welds were extremely nice, but the piping had not been treated (nothing that barbeque paint can't fix).Â* Furthermore the flanges weren't aligned perfectly which caused a bit of exhaust leakage, but it was an easy fix as well.Â* This exhaust does sound amazing though, deep tone but it is on the loud side.Â* Here are the dyno graphs from my day.
Run #1 -Â* 234.5 HP - This was the baseline run, fairly strong, up to date on reflashes
Run #2 -Â* 263.3 HP - Exhaust and intake installed
Run #3 -Â* 303.5 HP - Exhaust, intake, and MBC installed dialed in at 22.9 PSI

Here is the boost graph and Air Fuel Ratio graph for the final run

Now for a couple of videos:
This is a video of the 2nd run where I made 263.3 HP

We decided to start the car before the exhaust was completed, when it was just single piping all the way back to no muffler

For good measure I'm going to throw in some pictures of the day

I apologize for some of the crappy photos, my camera was giving me issues... :tickedoff:
Â* Â*All in all, the car has now finally come alive.Â* It felt a bit sluggish at first mostly due to the extremely linear powerband.Â* I was missing the speed and a bit of the mean fury that my IX had, but this has changed that quite a bit.Â* The car feels completely different and is happy to run all out.Â* It doesn't have the all of a sudden blast of gut punching power that the IX has, but it is FAST all throughout which gives it a different feel.Â* The power doesn't creep up on you, you know its there from the moment you step on it.Â* The thing that really suprised me was the torque curve.Â* I consistently made more torque than hp in my runs on the dyno.Â* Yes, these numbers (for those of you who don't know) were obtained on a Dyno Dynamics dyno, which will read significantly lower than a Dynojet (Charlie estimated around 345 to the wheels on a dynojet).Â* I really got to give it up to MFQ.Â* I am not a fanboy, I just have had a fantastic experience over the last 1.5-2 years at MFQ and this has just cemented it.Â* The time and effort Charlie and Khiem put into their work is merrit for my praise.Â* Comments and questions are all welcome!
