I'm currently using methanol on my evoIX and I'm open for any suggestions. I wonder How many of you are using E-85. Do you guys like it better than methanol? Is it safe? Can e85 handle 30+psi of boost like meth? I'd like to hear your opinion.

E85 can handle 30psi. Its harder to find since you have to fill up every tank with it and with Meth you can just fill up every 3-4 tanks of gas with a 7 quart tank. Methanol is easier overall, but E85 is probably a better long term option if you live close enough now to a station with E85

I was using meth and got rid of it recently, but I loved it...I will swap to E85 as soon as it is available in at least one location by me since my car is not a DD

Why did you get rid of the meth? E85 is available in SD at Pearson fuels.

Its a long story man...In the IE, we have no E85 so unless I store mass quantities in my garage, its a no go

He doesn't live in SD, so E85 is quite problematic to get where he's from.

A friend in FL f***ed up his FP green with meth. EGT meter fell off on top of it.

LOL, Mine wasn't anything like that. Run proper failsafes, have it instaleld properly, ensure nobody shorts out your components by spraying water in your engine bay, and you will love it to death

I have all proper failsafes. My friend had the same thing + the check engine light flashing @ knocking... he said...all failed that day.

Pretty scary right! that's why I don't know what to do. Does anyone have more scary stories about meth or E85? Share them with all of us. Thanx.

bad shit can happen on a stock evo, but E85 would be the safer choice because it doesnt have so many things that can go wrong as with meth. If you live near a e85 station theres really no reason to run meth, check the RRE forum for e85 info.

Don't you need to change fuel injectors to run e85?

1000cc and fuel pump in the min fuel system upgrade for E85, some people can ge away with 720cc densos.

E85+meth. I believe so. James @ Reese tuning said he would do it. Give him a call.

I think E85 + meth will only have minimal benefits vs straight E85 since Ethanol already cools down the air a lot better than regular gasoline, but I'm sure someone will try it to compare the differences.

You're right. I might try it since I already have a meth kit installed on my car.

People say they're better than RCs but not many can afford $1600 for injectors. The only reason why I said some can get away is because I was running 720cc Densos about 120% duty cycle for a few months on E85, I'm not so sure with RCs.
