Okay just picked up a RRE stealth Exhaust. Mostly what I expected. However, I"m looking at one bend that troubles me. Looks actually quite like a dent. First time seeing an RRE exhaust in person and Alexx (the guy i bought it froom) tells me that he bought it from RRE brand new and the bend was always like that. I"m inclined to believe him because it doesn't look like the pipe has been struck by anything.

I am by no means bashing RRE. I'm just wondering if what Alexx says is true. And if it did always come like this isn't it restrictive? It looks a bit that way to me. Here are the pics. Maybe someone with an RRE stealth can chime in or better yet. Mike W. or one of the techs can let me know. If it really was just dsigned that way, I trust RRE's judgement. I"m no engineer or mechanic myself.

Anyways here are the pics, the rest of the exhaust is perfect.

The rest of the exhaust is very straight. Thats like the only bend in the whole system

hmmm will wait on the official word from RRE. Will talk to alexxx as well. Haven't tried installing it yet though.

But no, its not two bends. Its just the same bend that i took different pictures of.

NO.. Â*that's not normal. Â*(i've got an RRE stealth) Â*I don't see how it would even fit.. Â*unless it's also bend less at the muffler as maybe an attempt to be more streight back, but I still can't see how it would fit. Â* so see if it fits.. if so.. Â*enjoy.. Â* That bend won't make any noticable difference in power.

RRE stealth exhaust FTW Russ....

That doesn't look normal but looks like it can probably be fixed.

yea, i'm contemplating just returning it. But to be fair I did get a deal on the exhaust (250). I'm gonna see what road race says about this. And if it doens't cost me too much to fix. I'll just have them fix it and install it.

Can you show pictures of the full exhaust on the ground? I have a stealth exhaust and there are no kinks in the pipe.

Well first thing I notice is that our exhausts normally go under the car on an EVO. Is there a way to see the full exhaust? Besides than the install being a bit off, it looks not like anything that leaves our shop.

I have a RRE Stealth Exhaust and by just looking at the first two pictures posted, that exhaust is clearly bent.

The "bend" occurs on the midpipe close to where it connects to the axle back.

Wow! I have had 2 of these in the past and sold both but they never looked like that. But it does look fixable so its not that bad considering you paid 250 for it. I sold mine for 350 in perfect condition. It does suck that he tried to say thats normal though....

that's defenitely not a manderel bend! IT'S A KINK!

You got it for a good price, you should just have RRE chop it n weld up a new pipe...

It does look fixable. But i'm thinking of just returning it. I called the shop and the guy told me I'd have to pay the 80 dollars for them to install it on the car for them to fix it. I can easily install the exhaust myself, just not when its broken lol. So I might end up paying 80 dollars plus the 80 dollars hourly rate for however long it takes to fix it and end up paying 160 at the minimum. I guess i might just return it.

U can actually still install it, it might not just line up with the rear hanger at first. Just install it and have them fix it, then you can easily slide it in the rear hanger.

Yea man, I'd be happy to throw 100 dollars at it to make it go away haha. But its going to end up costing me much more than that if i want it fixed

HMMM that might be an option, i'm gonna give it a try. But all I have with me for the moment is an oem car jack, not sure if that will suffice.

Its better if you have ramps to work with cuz the RRE exhaust is heavy as hell! an extra set of hands would help to.

^^your wrong forums fix everything from hurt feelings to broken engines. I'll get it on the car before I head to RRE

I guess we could put it all on the jig and re-spiffy it. The price is just going to be time and materials what ever it costs. We can guess all day long about how long it will take. The rear section will also need some bonking here and there on the hangars to square them up. It will need one mandrel bend for about $35. Figger it will cost about $120 minimum. Untill we are about 30 minutes into it, it's all just a guess.

Was the EVO that it came off of rear ended? It took alot of force to bend the pipe like that. The hanger in picture two is clearly bent out of shape.

^^ I gave it back and it was refunded. Alexx met up with me and gave the money back. Well I guess i'll sum it up to miscommunication. I didn't see the pipe last night when we exchanged it because it was dark and there was a towel wrapped around both ends. And I doubt he did it to hide it from me. He did take it off at night so it could be that he just didn't see it. I called him and asked him and he said he thought it was the tip that i was talking about and not pipe. I would've paid the 120 to RRE but I couldn't drive to RRE once the thing was installed. It was literally 2mm from the drive shaft. No complaints about Alexx's character from my end. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he probably didn't see it and it doesn't matter now cause he refunded the money. Problem solved.

I just sold a "Stealth" system for a 9, and therefore have looked at it off the car many many times in the past coupla weeks or so. No dents or (in your case) kinks.
