So time came to renew my insurance and I have had 2 points added to my perfect driving record this past year.Â* My rate on my same shitty coverage was due to go up twice as much from $140/month to $380/month.Â* After hearing that a DD can cheapen your total costs I check into it.Â* I found that by picking up a used corolla (which gets 31/38mpg) and adding that as my primary commuter, and put the Evo on as a pleasure car, I was able to pay the monthly payment for the Corolla and still put at least $150 back into my pocket all with better coverage.Â* And as an added bonus I have a car that flies under the radar instead being clocked by it.Â* :police: So take my word for it, get a daily driver.

Not only is it cheaper on insurace but cheaper to fill up that tank!!!
I tell all my guy's "CHINO HILLS CREW" get a dd.
The one's who cry about gas " over $500.00 a month in gas could go towards a beater.They never see the light!!

I'm no baller. LOL The car I picked up had all major maintenance done already (belts, fluids, plugs, filter, brakes, tires, etc.) so I should be good to go for a while. Plus, I'm driving my Evo less which means less oil changes and regular maintenance on it.

I tried to do the same thing. I explained to my insurance company (progressive) that my insurance should be cheaper since I'm using a bucket as a daily driver and the evo is my pleasure car. When they calculated the numbers, my insurance quote went up a lot. Wtf?

What insurance companies are you using that show cheaper rates with multiple cars compared to one evo?

I went with AIS which ended up putting me with a division of Mercury.Â* My buddy with an STi goes thru them and told me he saved a bunch of money so I tried it.Â* Just go to their website and do the online quote. Once you fill the info out they will give a quote from a list of companies.

I'm tellin all you suckas.. screw cages. Buy a bike. I own the most powerful production bike made (at least last time I checked), and I get 40mpg. On top of that, going down the road is actually fun, and you get there in half the time. Traffic is non-existent on a bike.

like when I go to school in the morning, traffic is HORRIBLE. at LEAST 1hour on my evo, but like 15min on my bike!! things like that add up
plus the great gas, the sheer fun, like leaning it, can't really explain it, you need to ride for yourself

Bikes are bad ass. I've ridden and love the feel of it. I've only ridden one modern day sport bike (01 GSXR 750 I think). The power was amazing. I would just like to get some more practice in, maybe some classes before I'd get a bike as a daily commuter. I've even thought about taking the course they offer at California Speedway.
