Well ever since i saw the best gas mileage thread i been pursuing the highest mileage, my first times i came up with 374 miles to the tank, and finally after driving at 55-60 miles drafting behind trucks to work(Camp Pendleton) i got 402 miles to the tank, no bs, i almost drained all 14 gallons, so im done pursuing this challenge because driving without going woot!! for a week sucks O0

NICE! you beat me! dang i never thought anyone would..

i honestly could have gone past 400 but i was scared i wouldnt run into another gas station in time so i filled up at 1/4 tank around 360+ miles. this was when i was driving open road to texas.

reason why?

ebevo
10-02-2008, 05:35 PM
assume these were mainly fwy miles?

I wouldn't feel safe driving that slow during normal/work fwy traffic hours.

Well the reasons are endless, but to name a few, the marines go through the hardest boot camp, are disciplined way harder, have more spirit in what they do, thats why we are called the few the proud, because our training is so hard not everyone makes it through, its earned not given.

Yeah 95% are freeway miles, and i wake up to work at 0330 so there is no traffic just a whole bunch of trucks.

Dang.* My gas gauge goes from 1/4 tank to empty in like 10 miles.* For you to wait out the "low fuel" light is truly an act of discipline that only a military man could accomplish.* Kudos to you my good man. O0

I can get 400 miles but I gotta fill up twice lol.

ah ha I figured that had to be catch (fwy + grave yard hours) that would be achievable but congrats on the discipline to control the right foot. O0

^^^^I was driving about 55 to 60 MPH, usually behind big rigs so i draft and i dont get the pissed off look from drivers because off going so slow. My moods include- injen intercooler pipping upper and lower, injen intake, magnacore spark plug wires, xs intercooler, greedy type s bov, hks hi power exhaust, rre 3200lbs no name clutch, and a apexi turbo timer.

^^ Same thing wrong with mine... nothing. haha thats an evo for you!! lol

the OP got that milage cause he was driving late at night with little to no people on the road, AND drafting Rigs... that is the best way to save gas right there. I rare get on mine, and i get 260- 265 a tank.... i know it would be more but I don't like seeing my gas light.
