Ok...

I'm sure many people have this problem, but I just can't seem to find a solution.

My valve cover has water spots on it and I can't get them off no matter what I've used or how hard I've scrubbed.

My side mirrors and corners of windows have the same thing going on and it's bugging me.Â* :tickedoff:

If anyone has the answer please let me know!Â* O0 - RJ

RJ, add a little bit of distilled white vinegar (small pour should do the trick) to your normal wash bucket with soap and water and it should take the waterspots off no problem.Â* Just make sure to wax any painted areas that you wash with vinegar.

paint cleaner and a buffer or microfiber towel and a well rested arm..

the rubbing compound u see in stores is very similar to what i use...it'll take care of the spots on glass too

what you guys need to do is go>>>>> HERE http://autogeek.net/
i like the ps21 german products. if you get the paint cleanser it will 100% work.it removes water spots and swirl marks as well as preps your paint for wax.

Vinegar is the best way to remove waterspots. But make sure the surface is cool before applying. Douse the shiet out of it (undiluted), let it soak in (it's going to eat into / up the minerals in the water spot), then rinse off and wipe dry. If it's a painted area, you should wax immediately thereafter, as the acid in vinegar will remove all waxes. It's basically akin to cleaning your coffee maker, where regular water will build up mineral deposits (if you don't want water spots on your car, wash with distilled water... although I don't know how you'd get gallons upon gallons of distilled water outta your hose :-P).

the water i use in my driveway for car washes is filtered through the soft water filter thing. so it minimizes water spots.

That does help, but in no way near the "purity" of distilled water.

Use that degreaser, the one in the purple bottle. Greased lightning, I believe is what it's called. Spray some onto a shop towel and wipe it down. I get water spots on my valve cover too, takes it right off. Trust me on this one.

best way to get water spots of glass and windows is a fine steel wool and any type of car polish. Just put some car polish on the steel wool and polish your glass like your polishing your car. Then wipe it off with a dry paper towel or a clean towel. Not sure if window is what you guys are asking, but please, DO NOT TRY THIS ON ANY PAINT SURFACE. This works wonders on glass and any chrome parts on cars. Especially those with the nice deep dish polish lips. 100% sure this will work. Also toothpaste works on old yellowish headlights to. But like i said, this if for window and I might of just typed the wrong info in the wrong topic. late.

I just cleaned my friend's evo with the degreaser I was talking about. His car hasn't been washed in a while and the valve cover was pretty dirty. I cleaned with with a shop towel and the greased lightning, came right off.
