I may be putting my car in a garage for a little while to get ready to do some things to it and also save the mileage and gas money etc...

I am curious to know how long a car can sit and not be driven?

Is there any precautions I should take???

Any help or info would be helpful! Thanks - RJ

My Evo sat for a month once.. disconnect the battery... change the oil before you park it... cover it if possible even if it is in a garage.. maybe remove all the gas.. other then that there's not much else to do.

Mine sat for 7 months while I was on deployment to Iraq, it will be fine. Top off your tank and if possible just at least start the car up if possible every week or 2 if possible. If you can't, disconnect the battery. Your car will be ok.

if your car is indoors it will be fine. you can leave it parked for a long time without any problems.. i have a friend who was on deployement who parked his evo for 1.5 years with the battery unplugged and no gas in tank. he came back and did an oil change put gas.. hooked up the battery.. and the car is still running fine...

mind you he got a new battery
