You can make the same thing here in the US for about 1/5 the price premium they charge for those things. You all have nothing to be jealous of. Exhaust, intake, piping, I/C, ECUTeK tune (is what is used to tune the FQ cars) and some cams and you are there with 93 octane. 370ish on 91 octane.

HKS upgrade parts yes. But HKS does not reprogram computers. ECUTeK does make software that allows you to reprogram a computer.

http://www.ecutek.com/news/

EcuTek are pleased to be able to announce it's involvement in the Official Mitsubishi UK race programme.

Mitsubishi UK decided that the best place to publicise the strength and power of the EVO X is in endurance racing.

They commissioned a car build by ADR Motorsport and Ecutek was asked to produce a 400bhp package for the engine capable of running for 24 hours.

Mike I think the fq400 is only 400 to the crank so a X with exhaust intake and your tune would be in the 400 crank range.

I guess if anyone wants to pay $90k for a RRE FU400 I'll throw in a factory warranty.

imo, paying for any "FQ" trim level is paying for the name. like mike said, the same level of performance can be achieved for way less.

Neat car, just like the previous 400's... as usual, we won't get it, and even if we did, based off UK pricing, it'd be at least $70k. I've thought about it, and I'd pay $60k for one, just because even at that price, nothing would touch it, and it's got some other go-fast goodies besides just the motor mods. For $70k though, I think I'd prolly look at a used 911 Turbo instead.

what was interesting in the article is that they said the fq400 evoX will have a GEAR BOX. now correct me if im wrong the evo 8 fq400 was an evo MR. the evo X mr has the paddle shifters.....so im guessing that they didnt want to go the paddle shifting route for the evox fq400? thats odd...so in a way the evo has like 5 different trim levels. over seas at least...

I bet the X FQ400 and the VIII MR FQ400 don't make more than 330-350whp on a dynojet in stock trim. An Evo with 400 flywheel horsepower isn't anything special- that's practically every Evo on the street in America. It's even less impressive in the X with it's extra weight. We should also remember that the FQ400's (at least the VIII MR FQ400) need to be run on 100oct minimum I believe. Weak.

What I want TG to redo is the hot lap in evo8 mr fq400. The stig seriously lost time when he fell off the boost in the hammer head section. Imagine what the time would've been if he had just done that section right.

^^my friend thinks very highly of all those euro cars that are all fancy and shit and have all that HP but i always tell him they handle like shit and he doesnt believe me. well when i say handle like shit, i mean they handle good but not like the evo of course. so what i did is when they did the lap of the fq400 and they put the time on the board i print screened it and saved it. sent it to him and u can see all these dope ass cars that the evo is posted above :)

The VIII FQ400 was pretty detuned.Â* I don't know, HKS turbo and other HKS parts, Motech M800, and whatever doesn't seem to be that cool :-( Its more of a UK thing.

In the world of Mini Coopers they have the JCW trim. It costs about 3 grand more for like 40 more Factory Warranty horse power. They should come out with that on the Evo. One thats not 50 grand more!

I vote for the RRE trim!

Where'd you learn to do math? 45,000pounds is roughly 67-68,000dollars.
But never the less still more expensive then a US evo.

Gimme $68K and I'll pick up an X from SCM and gussie it up hotter than the FU 4000 with more power, warranty it for you and make a center exhaust too. Send the check to the address on the web page and you can pick up your car in a month.

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_FoXyvaPSnVk/ShxIcv0NCJI/AAAAAAAByIM/LodRddzXnx8/s1600/Mitsubishi-Lancer-EVO-X-FQ-400-3.jpg

The fastest and most powerful production version of the Lancer Evolution X to date, the FQ-400, has been officially introduced by Mitsubishi's British arm. Set to on sale in the UK in June, the new FQ-400 comes with a retuned 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 403bhp at 6,500 rpm and 525Nm or 387lb/ft of torque at 3,500 rpm sending the sports sedan from standstill to 62mph (100km/h) in a mere 3.8 seconds before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 155mph or 250km/h.

Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X FQ-400 - CarscoopThe power increase from the standard 2.0-liter turbocharged MIVEC engine's 293bhp was achieved through a series of upgrades that include among other things, high-flow fuel injectors, a new turbocharger featuring low-friction bearings, a high temperature turbine and strengthened thrust, an enhanced intercooler, a new exhaust system and the remapping of the Engine Control Unit (ECU).

To ensure that all that power finds its way on the road, Mitsubishi tweaked the EVO X's chassis. Changes include a wider track and lowered suspension featuring Eibach springs and Bilstein shock absorbers plus new lightweight 18-inch, nine spoke alloy wheels fitted with Toyo Proxes R1R tires. Furthermore, the FQ-400 is equipped with a revised braking system that uses aerospace grade aluminum alloys and floating sealed discs grabbed by high performance pads.

Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X FQ-400 - CarscoopThe standard EVO X's advanced Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC) four-wheel-drive system with Active Stability Control and Active Centre Differential, Active Yaw Control and Sport ABS, remains of course unchanged.

The mechanical upgrades are accompanied by a more aggressive styling kit that comprises of a heavily vented bonnet, a new lightweight composite front bumper featuring carbon-fibre elements on its leading edges, a rear wing incorporating a gurney strip and a roof-mounted 'Vortex Generator', composite side skirts, a re-styled rear bumper with a carbon fibre diffuser plus additional lighting and High Intensity Discharge (HID) lights.

Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X FQ-400 - CarscoopInside, aside from the Recaro bucket sports seats, the range-topping Lancer Evolution X also gains an FQ-400 liveried handbrake handle and carbon fibre gearknob..

The Lancer Evolution FQ-400's price has been set in the UK at £49,999 ($79,400 US or €57,100) with the sport sedan's standard equipment including Bluetooth hands-free telephone connection, a CD-tuner with 30 Gig hard drive, DVD satellite navigation and privacy glass plus remote central locking, automatic headlamps and windscreen wipers. We're pretty sure that those interested in the FQ-400 wouldn't have mind at all if Mitsubishi removed most of these convenient features thus lowering the car's price and most importantly, shaving a few pounds off the FQ-400's weight.
